i had a one touch before but it died just as i was in the middle of opeing some tins resulting in a lot of mess and a broken tin opener, there’s no such problem with this fantastic gadget, it dosnt clip onto the tin so much as it sits snuggly against it while the cutting blade is pushed down into the top of the tin and hey presto if it cuts out you just raise the cutting arm and recharge it.

the only odd thing i found so far was it wont operate when connected to the mains charger, but then again it only takes a few mins of charge in order to open a tin (i try to keep it charged all the time)

briliant little piece of kit although it can be a bit fidly untill you get the hang of using it (since i only have the value range tins this might be why lol)

I really love my little Gizmo. I recently broke my left wrist and could not open tins that did not have a ring-pull device. I already had one of those battery operated can openers, but it did not like very large tins of dog food and promptly jammed on the lid and could not be removed. I had to throw the whole thing away still attached to the tin! When Amazon had a special offer on the Russell Hobbs Gizmo I bought it,and am delighted with it. Even with one useable hand it opens all of my tins. Go Go Gizmo!!!!!

Well,what can I say really?

It’s a can opener, which remarkably enough does the job it’s designed for.

It appears that many folk write praising any item to the skies just because it actually functions as it’s supposed to,which I find wholly bizarre, and sadly says so much about our present low expectations than anything else.

Top quality item. Charge it up, snap it on and let it run. Love it.

I find this can be a little awkward to get on a can to start opening it- takes a few tries.

Worst thing is that the wall charger didn’t last very long- struggled to get a replacement (generic adapters don’t do 3V AC so no joy there either).

The can opener has a label saying 3V AC .15 Amp, the supplied charger says it is 3V 100mA – which is .1 Amp so may be under rated for the application. No wonder the charger got very warm- it seems as if it was being overworked which is probably why it failed. At least it didn’t catch fire- but it is a bit of a concern.
