My second filter…unfortunately dropped my camera, but thankfully has the filter which protected the actual lens. Lesson is never leave your lens unprotected. There is no obvious distortion to pictures taken…pin sharp.

Bought this filter for my Nikon D90 and I have to say it has been an excellent buy. I used the camera without a filter for a few months and ever since I bought this, I have never taken the camera out without this filter. It became a sort of permanent fixture to the lens. It does protect the lens from dust and smudges, however you would need to buy a good lens cleaner in case if the filter gets dirty. The packaging with the plastic protective case is attractive and the price on Amazon is very reasonable too.

i wanted a UV filter form my new Nikon D90 and had looked in Jessops and seen that they had Hoya or there own brand, i was going to get the Nikon branded product as with UV filters it doesnt greatly matter, but thought i would just check prices online and found this Hoya UV for less than the Jessops braded one instore.

Got this as a lens protector. It’s multicoated, low profile and does the job without costing the earth. Works well, and I can see the difference when not using the filter in a really sunny day.

mainly used for lens protection,but it does do what it says on the tin,excellent results in most conditions,good price,does not interfere with any lens action ie lens hood etc.
