Ordered from Amazon on the Saturday, despatched on the Monday and arrived 9am Tuesday. All with Free Super Saver delivery. Great Service.

It comes with WD SmartWare but I haven’t used it as I use Time Machine. The Mac recognised it straight away and even though it says 500Gb there is actually 465Gb available – usual for these devices.

Small, fits in your pocket, easy to use, needs no separate power supply. Comes with a 2 year guarantee. My only complaint would be the length of the USB lead which is about 47cm long – most USB leads are about twice this (hence only 4 stars).

Time will tell how good it is but so far very impressed.

It doesn’t matter too much, but an absolutely first class product doesn’t get 5 stars because the lead (not a standard mini USB) is really very short, frankly a bit of silly mistake.

simply plug in and your ready to go….its that easy.

don’t understand why they made the USB lead so short, thats my only problem with it.

other than that great piece of kit….just need a longer lead.

When i first received the product i was pleasantly surprised with the overall look and feel of it along with its light weight and portability.

I have had Western Digital drives before and they have usually been great, although if something does go wrong Western Digital are not the easiest to contact.

The other faults i found with the product is that sometimes my macbook will not recognize it (since it is apparently built for macs then this is not brilliant) and also that the lead often comes unplugged from the end of the Hard drive as it is not a very secure fit and this can be very irritating. Although this rarely seems to be a problem if you are using it on a desk but if you are using it on the move this can be very off-putting.

Other than these 2 minor problems i am happy to say how pleased i am with the product and how good it is (and how sleek it looks)

Item is nice and compact, which is great, but will not work on a Macbook, or maybe other laptop as it draws too much power from the USB connection. So, no use at all really. It does mention this on WD’s website, but not in any packaging or promotional material.
