I bought this quality, very solid and thick lead to connect my PC to my new HDTV which I am using as my new monitor. All I can say is WOW. The picture quality is amazing compared to my 8 year old LCD flatscreen monitor. Sharp is an understatement. I have seen the same type lead (HDMI to DVI-D, 24k) on sale at a well known, major high street electrical chain for 6 (YES SIX) times the price I paid for this and that lead was 1.5m not the 2m lead I bought here. In fairness the high st one did come with a lifetime warranty but I’m not convinced that justifies such a massive price difference. So in summary if you have a device with a DVI output (in my case a PC graphics card) and want to connect it to a HDTV and you want to do so at a fraction of the price you would be charged on the high st, then I would recommend you buy this lead. Also worth noting this is a picture cable only. If you want to connect sound to the TV you need to buy a separate audio lead.

As my monitor does not have an HDMI input (but my laptop has an HDMI output) this cable joins the two together.

Unlike a television, however, the audio is not transmitted as the DVI part would not know what to do with it.

The cable is soft and reasonably flexible (like a mains cable) and worked straight out of the box; my laptop recognised that I has plugged in another monitor and did the business.

I originally bought the 1m version of this cable but discovered that was too short for me; OK if you just want to connect to a projector (ideal to keep in your laptop bag) but for a more permanent installation the two metre cable allowed me to route it better.

Nice cable, glad I bought it.

Good quality cable, it works but no audio. Maybe I should have researched it better first.

If you go to any electronic aisle in a store which sells these cables, they are at least 4-5 times more expensive. These work like it should – straight out of the box and cost much less. No need to buy high priced cables when you can buy these at a fraction of a cost.

Bought this item without first checking my computer to make sure it had a DVI slot which it didn’t so on that basis this was a waste of money on the face of it. However I’ve now got an adaptor on order which should make it usable. So I’m reserving judgement on the quality of this product but delivery time was spot on.
