Does exactly what it says on the tin. My laptop is like new again at a fraction of what the Sony battery would have cost and I this new cheaper battery lasts longer and is much lighter than the original. Delivery was much quicker than expected also.

This battery seems an ideal replacement at much less cost than a Sony one. Only time will tell how it continues to hold it’s charge, but so far the battery life is at least equal to the original battery when new. It does not get excessively warm during use and was dimensionally identical to the original so no fitting problems.

The item description says it is a replacement battery for the VGP-BPS2B, but I have received it and it does not work – the battery light just flashes but the machine will not turn on even with the ac power plugged in until I remove the battery. I had a look on the back of the battery, and it says: “Replace: VGP-BPS2C/S” and it is the wrong voltage.
Update: I have ordered this battery again, from a different supplier, this new one does have the correct specifications printed on the back, but the same thing happens. They are sending me another to test, and say it could be my laptop that is broken. I will test with an OEM battery, and with this new battery, and with another machine, and update the review once complete…..

This BPS2 battery works fine in my 3 year old Sony Vaio VGN-C2S, so no worries about the chip issue which is reported by some purchasers of different replacement batteries. The price (£31.90) was less than any other battery I could find of equivalent capacity. Delivery was also immediate, signed for, and yet at no extra cost. The battery capacity (at a nominal 4000 mAh, not 4400) is less than the original 5200, but I am experiencing longer running times (2 hours) than I ever got with my old battery even when it was new, and, of course, considerably better than recent performance which had fallen to less than 20 minutes.
To save making the mistake of leaving the battery on charge for extended periods (which apparently is seriously bad for them), I have decided to purchase another so I can keep discharging them without risk of being caught out with a flat battery. Unfortunately, Amazon directs me to a different supplier (which is also dearer) whereas I would prefer to deal with Invero again.
I would certainly recommend both this product and Invero.
