Products like these are the most exciting of things are they guys? I use this with my Creative Vado HD hooked up to our Samsung plasma and it works fine, just as I wanted as just as I expected it to.

The packaging was easy and frustration free, so a thumbs up to Amazon for that.

I cable you can finally get to without shredding your hands with impenetrable plastic packaging…although the complete package from Amazon was unjustifiably large…!

The cable itself is good and solid, with a cloth-braided exterior and corrosion-proof gold-plated connectors. It also doesn’t stubbornly retain its coiled form like other cables, which is a nice change. It did its job admirably when I tried it with both my DVD player, Blu-ray player and laptop, so no complaints there, and there is certainly no degradation in quality due to the ‘Basic’ labelling of this product.

The only thing I would question is if you wanted to spend this much on a cable when other v1.3 gold-plated cables on this site which are cheaper. I say this because, to my untrained – but still somewhat critical – eyes, there was no improvement in image or sound quality with this cable over a similar specc’ed cable I bought from Sainsbury for 2/3 the price.

Used this with my Xbox 360 and my HD TV, works fine and looks good, what else can you say about it?

I’ve bought Belkin in the past but I think they’re over-rated. Perfectly adequate for most people’s needs…save some dosh!

I thought this was going to be a basic cable like you get at Tescos but was surprised to find something of significantly higher quality. The cable itself is particularly nice, thick and heavy, with some kind of braided fabric surrounding it, making it feel like a cable that costs far more than it actually does.

In terms of signal quality I have no complaints. Once again, better than the kind of cheap HDMI cable I’m used to buying.

I was a little perturbed by the packaging, which is called Frustration Free, but seems so very excessive to ship something that is not particularly fragile. Really quite a significant quantity of cardboard. I haven’t knocked a star off my rating for the packaging though.
