Initially I was going to give this product three stars but as the price has dropped by a few pounds since I received mine I now think it is reasonable value although I think it could still do with being slightly cheaper. The case itself is perfectly adequate for what I wanted which was non-fussy, un-bulky and protection from scratches, so it serves this purpose very well. As other reviews have stated it most defintely will not protect from any kind of drops or bangs but that can be said of most neoprene covers regardless of cost – unless of course stated otherwise in their description.

This is the first Amazon ‘frustration-free’ packaged item I have used that has actually frustrated me because: (a) the frustration-free box whilst opening easy and being recycleable was way too big for the product (b) that box was then installed in yet another cardboard box almost double in size (c) this box was then packed with wads of paper to stop the other box moving around. So the frustration-free packaging is excellent because it is easy to open and recycle but this is totally negated by the unnecessary extra box and padding, so one star for this.

Part of the ‘amazon basics’ range, this product is a unfussy netbook sleeve in weather-resistant Neoprene. Designed to help ‘cushion and protect mini laptops, netbooks, DVD players, Amazon Kindle, and more’ I have to say that while I found it more than adequate for protecting my device from scratches or finger-prints it would, I suspect, be virtually useless for ‘cushioning’ or ‘protecting’ my Netbook from anything but the ‘softest’ bumps. The cover itself is attractive enough but awfully flimsy- the padding is only ‘light’ after all. Features internal elasticated bands to clip over the flip-top lid of my device. Certainly it’s a useful product to have if you have a Netbook to lug around but aside from that I’m struggling to find much to say about it. Does what it says on the label – sort of! Its ‘customised design’ is pretty neat I suppose and after a few months use I can report that the the lining and stitching is showing no signs of wear or tear whatsoever. Rubber zip fasteners are a neat idea – no snagging here. A good buy for students and those on budgets who transport their gear. Fits 7- to 10-inch netbooks Dimensions: 12 x 9.2 x 1.8 inches (LxWxH) Warranty: AmazonBasics 1-Year Limited European Warranty.

It’s a zip up, durable, weather-resistant Neoprene Netbook Bag, and just the right size for my external disc drive. Black on the outside and orange inside.

The sleeve (all 12 by 9.2 by 1.8 inches of it) came in frustration free packaging, which was good, but the box itself was massive. Okay, it could all be recycled, but this could have easily fit through my letterbox in a padded envelope. I had friends round at the time this was delivered, and they laughed at the tiny, sleeve-bag I pulled out after unpacking it all! I can safely say this will not get damaged in the post!

I’ve not tried any of Amazon brands before and liked the look of this – the black and orange ‘Amazon’ look, I felt was a nice touch. The rubber zipper grip, actually felt quite nice to handle.

I also like that it is protected by an AmazonBasics one-year limited European warranty. Although, as for the warranty card, I think I may have just chucked that out by mistake in my ‘unwrapping frenzy’.

This product is currently doing duty in our house holding an Acer netbook and it does the job very well indeed.

The neoprene is good quality and the zip (which failed on a previous non-Amazon brand sleeve) seems sturdy and well stitched in to the neoprene.

The colour is nice, black on the outside and a nice orange inner.

The only thing I would change with the sleeve is the tags on the zip which declare the product to be ‘Amazon Basics’. I am being a bit snobby here but the basics tag does seem to cheapen the product a little bit. Apart from that it is a really good product that is inexpensive and does what you ask of it.

Recommended.

This type of case does the job for the price you pay. It is a neoprene and padded case that will protect items such as an Ipad, mini notebook or even a portable DVD player. It is plain black and has a zip running all the way round. It certainly protects items from being scratched, however it isn’t the kind of sturdy case you may want if you are looking for a bit more protection (such as dropping things).
