Ordered this shell case for my husband to use for his iPhone, (just one is enough in anyone’s house believe me) and he is very pleased with it.

What surprised him was the fact it is just an Amazon Basic range, but the quality so good. So bother splashing out on an expensive one, when the quality of this is the same but cheaper in price?

It fitted on his phone perfectly, alright your phone is not quite so slim as without, but at least protected from knocks and bumps. When you think of the cost of the phone worth spending this amount which is not much to give yourself that extra bit of protection.

Even with the case on it still leaves everything accessible on your phone. Easy to clip on, no fiddly bits, just a great item.

My husband got this red/black one (already got a cheaper black one on his phone) but since this came has changed it to this, as he likes the colour plus thinks it feels more sturdier than his black one. The only thing he does say about it though is that the case is heavier, not like his other that is a featherweight one.

Packaging wise it came in a cardboard packet which is great for recycling, no extra bits apart from the small plastic bag and the flyers (why you get so many I don’t know, but getting rid of those is a problem).

I have been using this protective case for a few weeks now and I have to say that I am very pleased with it. Normally I wouldn’t go for this type of case because the ones I’ve seen on other people’s phones seem a little tacky or too manly for me. I was curious to try this one out because it received such good reviews from the other vine reviewers.

Firstly, the colour of the actual product is more sophisticated than the red seen in the picture. I’m not normally a fan of red stuff but this was more of a dark but cheery red – usually seen on the more expensive christmas decorations or on ballgowns. The red is bright enough to be funky but not telephone box red to be childish or tacky. The bottom sleeve is black and compliments the whole colour scheme nicely. I love the feel of the case, slightly rubbery but smooth and without the stickiness that rubber can sometimes have. It doesn’t pick up lint or dust like the dreaded silicon covers. It provides ample protection for the phone (except obviously for the screen) and it’s easy to use.

My only gripe with this case is that the slot for the volume control is slightly too deep cut so that it’s difficult to press the volume keys up and down but it’s not a prob that would merit a star being removed because I love it in every other respect. The position of the cut outs for the camera and headphone jacks are absolutely spot on – the best and most accurate I have ever seen on an iPhone cover.

All in all I love this product and this is the case that I will be using for a long time to come.

This is the second iphone case I’ve had, and is by far the best. It is simple to put on and take off and is protective of the phone without diminishing the sensitivity of the touchscreen.

Whilst it is advertised as being in “frustration free” packaging, that all depends on what you get frustrated by! It was packed in cardboard, which is recyclable (and certainly less frustrating than that vacuum sealed plastic packaging), but it came in a huge box, far too big for the product – I only mention this because it is mentioned in the product description.

Having used many iPhone 3G/3Gs cases, I can honestly say this is one of the nicest. It is cheap, chunky, provides solid protection compared to the brand name products (Exspect, Belkin, etc.) and is a gorgeous shade of red. At under £8, this is one of the best iPhone cases available and another fantastic addition to the AmazonBasics range.

If there is but one downside, it is the weight that it adds to the phone; it is slightly crude in its production, but this could provide extra protection should you drop the phone, and it would be nice if a screen protector was included, so you could protect the screen too. If style is what you’re after, then I’m sure there are other ‘featherlite’ cases that will be better suited to your needs, but for protection, this is bulky and nice. Perfect for laser engraving onto as well!

Whilst the case looks nice, and has a fantastic velvet-y matt feel the ergonomics leave a lot to be desired. The buttons are hard to access with the case on. It has open gaps/spaces in the right places but these are hard to press and uncomfortable to use as the edges of the case gets in the way of your fingers. It is easy to put on and off but I do like that you can charge without removing the case. I like that this case fits well and is compatible with screen protectors as I’ve had trouble with this in the past. I haven’t actually dropped my iphone since I got this case but it seems hardy and realiable and I wouldn’t be too worried if I had dropped it. As the brand suggests the case is basic and perhaps not as polished as apple products but it’s not a bad case and it’s very good value for money. As far as aesthetic goes my only gripe is that it says amazon basics on the black section at the bottom on the back which annoys me and unneccessarily spoils the look for me.

On the whole, the issues with the buttons is the only real drawback for me.
