Very pleased with this item. I wanted it to play my music from my laptop (HP Pavilion) via bluetooth to my stereo system and it does exactly that! I can appreciate that the sound quality will never be as good as using hard wires but a few tweaks to the trebal and bass setting to a stereo amp should give you more than adequate listening quality. I haven’t used the device with an Ipod but it works very well with the stereo bluetooth out put on my laptop. If you have this feature on your computer and you are thinking of doing the same as me do not hesitate to buy this belkin device.

Note: The unit DOES come with a uk adaptor! No worries there.

Similar comments to a few of the other reviewers. Works really well but the lack of a UK power adaptor is annoying – fortunately one of the other reviewers suggested using a shaver adaptor which works fine but it costs a star from the review.

Bought this to drive a pair of Soundsticks so I didn’t have to keep plugging and unplugging them and am pretty impressed with the sound so far – it’s not perfect as Bluetooth is a little lossy but it’s certainly as good as I’d hoped (you notice the compression effects on some very high frequency audio).

Tried it with my iPhone and MacBook Pro (which is what I really wanted it for). Both were able to setup without any trouble although you have to remember to disconnect one before trying to connect the other. If you get more than about 10′ from the receiver then you can get occasional sound glitches (and as with any wireless technology if you get yourself between the transmitter and receiver the effective range reduces)

works really well, music sounds very good using my ipod touch 3g as long as you stay in the same room…..i can also surf the net on the ipod touch and listen to music with no problems and if i do get drop outs i just re boot my ipod touch and everything works, shame about the euro 2 pin adapter but you can get a converter for a few pound off amazon hence the 4 stars otherwise it would have got 5

This pretty much does what it is advertised to do. Simple to set up (don’t especially like the two-pin mains plus, which, combined with shaver adapter makes the whole power piece of it very unwieldy and much larger than the receiver itself). Plugged the audio cable into the Aux channel on my stereo, paired it with my Blackberry Storm 2 and off we went.

However, I found that if you moved the Blackberry around, the Bluetooth connection was very likely to drop out. As long as you left it in one place, no problem. This isn’t really a big deal for me, though I may well want to be doing something else with the Blackberry while the music is playing (e.g. checking my email) so I will have to see whether it turns out to be annoying. On the other hand, this only costs ~25 quid, so I’ll put up with this for now. (And it’s made an ageing stereo system with a CD player that no longer really works useful again, which is better than buying a new CD player).

I’d be interested to know if the BlackBerry Bluetooth Stereo Gateway which looks very similar physically but is a bit more expensive is the same device under the skin, and you’re just paying more for the Blackberry logo.

A good device that does what you would expect. The only difficulty is the fact it comes with a European mains adapter so you will have to get a shaver socket adapter or similar to be able to plug it in.

This was not made clear when I purchased from Amazon, hence the marking down.
