I thought I would comment on the single review here, as it gives a misleading impression. This is in fact a very simple piece of kit, very useful in some circumstances. It costs 3 quid and does the single thing it’s supposed to. Who cares if it doesn’t say ‘Belkin’ on it? It’s not a ferrari!

I use this splitter on my computer; one output goes to the computer speakers, the other to an infra-red headphone transmitter for when I don’t want to disturb others (piano practice, for example).

The leads are quite short, which I wanted otherwise you end up with metres of cable everywhere.

Build quality is exactly what I expect (and demand) from Belkin and these have not disappointed.

Far better than the £1-a-pair rubbish I once bought (from that auction site) which had cables so thin they eventually snapped.

Excellent way to drive 2 outputs from 1 3.5mm socket. Works perfectly and looks good.

This is a great gadget, but would certainly recommend that head phones with individual volume controls are used with it.

But beside that it does what I intended it for.

This sound splitter works perfect. I’m combining it with my headphones, and a male-to-male jack that connects to my TV-Monitor, so that I don’t have to fiddle with the cables around the back of my PC when it gets late at night. One thing must be noted, though. If the cable is in not as tightly as it should be, you’ll get mono sound, or sound in only one ear. Even if only one side of the cable is loose, both sources will be affected. Easily fixed by adjusting the cable.
