WHAT A STINKER!, 7 Oct 2007

William Lewis (England) –

I reviewed this a few weeks ago, but Amazon (my favourite on-line supplier) did not publish it-shame on you (but I now know why you don’t make it available to rent). I felt it my civic duty to issue a strong hazard warning to avoid this ‘car crash’ of a film but I suppose I had better tone the original down. Apart from bad and amateurish acting, poor directing, unimaginative and purile writing I found nothing outstanding about this film. I suppose the music was okay if you like the sort of stuff you get in a lift. The ‘gorey’ bits were supposed to be gratuitous I’m sure, but failed to be frightening, shocking or harrowing in any way. Blood and cliches sprayed everywhere, at every opportunity, to the extent of showing three murders which are virtually carbon copies of each other and show nothing new. I found myself yawning and looking at my watch, thinking that I should have tuned into ‘Songs of Praise’ which might have had more imaginative horror in it!. If I could have given this minus 10 I would have done.

A VERY POOR SHOW, 23 Nov 2008

Black Dahlia [2006] (REGION 1) (NTSC)

This DVD production of The Black Dahlia Murder is very poor and has no sense to it what so ever. I do know a female who is a practicing witch who spoke well of this production and had I known it was this particular version i would not have ventured to purchase it before a sneak preview. It is an infantile effort by adults equal only to the deranged killers of Elizabeth Short. I am sure there are Documentaries out there about this subject so I would advise looking for them and do not purchase this production. However other plays based on the Black Dahlia or which borrow the name might be better.

This review is from: Black Dahlia [DVD] (DVD)

Reading the back of this DVD sounded like a really good film but upon watching it, it was very wierd and circus like. The story line was quite repetative through out. I wouldnt reccomend this at all!!
