I was surprised just how good this tripod was; the two spirit level bubbles are really useful when setting up the camera. The hook underneath is also useful for keeping the tripod steady. Generally a well made product. The arm was sufficiently long and with a comfortable rubber handle. My last tripod’s arm was very short and was hard plastic and three sided.

There were two big surprises when I opened the package; first there was a good quality carry case enclosed, which was not in the specification; which was great…

The second surprise however took the shine off, what would have been an exceptionally good buy for the money; there was no “3-way oil fluid head” and “- feature the Oil Fluid head for smooth operation” was also an incorrect claim by Amazon.

In summing up I would say this tripod represents exceptionally good value for money; you cannot go wrong for just £17.24. I checked all the other tripods on Amazon and could not find a better specification offered for the same money!

Just taken up photgraphy as a hobby. Needed tripod. Didn’t want to go to expense at first. Reviewed several tripods, and was happy with specs on this. Only risk I took was no review on weight it would hold. I have a Nikon D40 DSLR. It sits well on it, no issues encountered, have been out with it several times. On both even and uneven ground, but like with most, you would check first stability. Very light to carry around. Bag helpful to store and carry, then when out in the field, leave bag behind and use handle. Haven’t yet used in extreme conditions, due to lightness of it, would weigh it down. Am I happy YES, would I buy it again YES.

I have to agree with the other two reviewers and say that is a very good piece of equipment for the money. The tripod is also fairly sturdy, well built, and looks good with its light bronze finish. It has some great features like the three way panhead, quick release platform, centre bracing to help with stability and rigidity and a weight stabiliser hook. There are some nice touches that i didn’t expect like the swivel feet on the leg ends and two spirit bubbles. I’m just over six feet tall and when the centre is cranked up it is more than tall enough for me to stand properly and comfortably. When packed away in its own shoulder bag the tripod is a reasonable length at 66cm and at 1.4kg isn’t to excessive to take away when travelling.

I agree with Clive’s review in that this tripod is a quality product at a very reasonable price. It has nearly everything you could want from budget tripod. The build is good & is very sturdy in use. The ease of operation to set it up is very good – when you need to get ready to shoot an important event, it’s imperative to set up quickly.

However, also as Clive said, it doesn’t incorporate a “3 Way oil fluid head”, as it advertises. If you need to pan smoothly, this probably isn’t the tripod for you. However, I get around this by keeping the legs folded in & pivoting the unit like a monopod. All-in-all, this is still good value & I would still recommend for budding camera operators.

I use this with a Canon 50D fitted with a 70-200mm L Lens. It’s very stable and well made. It even comes with a good quality carry bag. Yes it’s light weight but thats what I wanted as I didn’t want to be carrying around a heavy tripod. If you want a tripod that has a nice “Name” on it and foam on the legs to keep your hands warm then buy an expensive one. if you want one that holds you camera and lens steady while you take photos, then buy this one! Highly recommended.
