This is a fine case for Canon G7 and G9 cameras. It looks neat and has a strong magnetic clasp to keep it shut. On the front there is a fairly discrete Canon logo (bottom-right). On the back there is a loop for attaching to a belt. The insides are lined with a kind of felt material.

Overall, I think it is good value. The semi-hard version of this case (model PSC-5000) is more expensive, but feels more sturdy and looks more stylish – up to you which you value more!

On reading the other reviews I was quite worried. Nevertheless, the Canon DCC-600 is much better than I expected; it is excellent quality (in real leather); offers great protection; fits the G9 perfectly and looks rather cool and even has a neat SD Card holder in the lid. I agree that a spare battery holder would have been useful but where do you stop. If you have a G7 or G9 I would highly recommend it; you will not be disappointed!

I bought this with my new G9, mainly to wear on my belt, because I had a superb Canon non-leather soft case with my Powershot S50.

On the first trip abroad the belt loop on the DCC-600 came half away from the case at the top – there was only one row of stitching to hold it on. Doh!

The case is also rather “boxy” and not very soft, with the result that it catches on things when worn on the belt. The camera sits in the case rather loosely, and the magnetic clasp does not give any real sense of security. There is no space allocated for a spare battery or other little bits and bobs like a lens cleaning cloth.

I don’t think the case was designed by anyone who wanted to use it, particularly on a belt – it might be OK if you want to wear the camera on its strap around your neck – then the security is handled by the strap and not the case.

I returned the broken case for a refund within 2 weeks of delivery and am now looking at Samsonite and others.

I had to wonder from another review if there weren’t counterfeit cases on the market, as my Canon DCC-600 case is great.

My Canon G9 fits snugly inside the case. I’ve used it attached to a belt on a number of occasions travelling abroad including a city tour of Berlin and visit to Jordan and it still looks new.

The leather quality seems good, better quality than many other cases.

The negatives are the rather boxy shape, which can be a nuisance; and the lack of space for a second battery.

I’m pleased with the look, quality and security this case offers.

I originally bought this case, but was not satisfied with the overall quality. The camera really wasnt the greatest of fits and it didnt feel like it was going to offer much protection to the sides. Instead i bought the more expensive retro leather case, and im very happy with that
