Duracell DRC511 Replacement Camcorder Battery for Canon BP-511, BP-512
Original batteries are so expensive that many are forced to buy cheap copies without any knowledge of whether they will damage our rather expensive equipment by leaking.
With a name like Duracel at least you have a guaranteed product!
The one problem I have found is that there is no cover for the terminals when not in use. The Canon product has a neat cover, but unfortuantely it does not fit the Duracel battery.
Otherwise a fine product.

I looked on the Canon website for a replacement battery, it was 70 Pounds, this does exactly tha same job for a quarter of the price. Well don Duracell and Amazon
