Not much to say about this that the picture doesn’t show. I was thinking of getting the ‘dashboard friction mount’ but didn’t want anything too big so instead tried the Air Vent Mount holder. Easy to put together and to set up, just as easy to take off of the vent and because it’s small it’s easy to put out of sight when leaving the car. I have a Ford Focus and I fixed it to one of the middle vents and it was solid with no shakes e.t.c on the road even when quite bumpy. Overall well worth the money and delivered very quickly. Great!

I am very disappointed with this Air Vent Holder for the Garmin Nuvi. It doesn’t clip onto the air vent very securely, it vibrates when it does manage to stay in position, but most frequently it just falls off, scratching the vent in the process. Not a gadget I would ever recommend.
Get the dashboard ‘bean-bag’ holder instead; that really does work.

I hate mounting the SatNav on the windscreen. Even though it doesn’t really affect my view of the road, it still feels distracting – and to pedestrians and other drivers it must look as if I don’t care too much about whether it’s obscuring my view. In any case, I’d rather have the SatNav screen down at the level of the dashboard, along with the speedometer, rev-counter and temperature gauge. That way I can ignore it most of the time and glance down at it only when I need it.
Mounting it on an air-vent is the perfect solution for me. This little gizmo does the job. It’s a bit plasticky – and I wouldn’t want to manhandle it too heavily for fear of something snapping – but I think it’s a good buy at this price. Still going strong for me after six months.
