I purchased this back in at the end of November, and found that though it was great for storing pictures it would not store videos. I contacted Envisage who advised me to return it as must be faulty, I am still awaiting a refund or replacement.

This company is very hard to get hold of, and though I have spoke to them several times I still have very little information about when I will get a replacement.

I wish I had not bought this item from this company as it is proving very difficult to get any outcome to my problem and currently I am almost £120 down and without a media player.

To be honest, and after reading the reviews, I wasn’t sure about buying this media player. However, I ended up buying 2 of them as xmas gifts.

One of them was faulty but it was swapped with a new one quickly and dealt with professionally.

The decoder (chip that plays the vids) is great as it plays everything(It played all my divx and xvid). Unlike other players where I struggled and had to re encode some avi file to watch or to simply Fast Forward. The unit doesn’t stuck and it plays files over 1GB of size.

The bad thing about the player is the Fast Forward functions as it goes X4 max and the remote doesn’t match the unit and it feels a bit cheap.

Bottom line, the product is good and after receiving good service via email I would defiantly recommend buying it. The tech guys from the company where replying to emails quickly, even on a sunday afternoon, which was great and reassuring.

Looks nice and easy to use, remote control works fine but there is just something missing. The last media player I bought was a 160GB one about 2 years ago. This was a great piece of kit, Composite video out, HD composite and scart out. I know this has just the video composite out but I do miss the extra outputs.

You will need to upgrade the firmware for this media player to recognise your divx and putting the files just in the route folder won’t work, they have to go in a folder first.

I will probably use for a while but when I have a bit of spare cash I will buy a housing with more outputs and ethernet connectivity and swap the drive.

Bought this product with the understanding that I could play vob files(dvd), player can only play 1 vob file, if you have multiple vob files it freezes between vob file and sometimes starts half way through the next chapter. Please note that almost all dvd’s are around 4 to 6 vob files, also unit comes with fat32 file sytem, it states that works with ntfs, you can change to ntfs but then the player doesn’t see the film at all. Works with divx, but you lose picture quality and take forever to convert, nice looking player though and very small and quite.

I found it sensitive to file names and extensions used and had to edit all the files, removing any dashes dots commas etc. leaving a clean file name e.g. my film.avi . if you don’t do this correctly the cyclone will just not see the file and will not play it . Also found that I could only make about 15 -18 operations of the remote control before the cyclone locked up and the only way to make it operate is to turn off and on again. This is a pain when looking for a film somewhere in the 1TB hard drive. A good filing system is essential. Also, it does not seem to support all AVI files. Some play with picture and no sound, some play sound and no picture, and some don’t play at all. But these thing aside when it plays correctly picture looks pretty good to me and sound ok too.
