Before I bought my Epson printer (DX7400) I owned a Lexmark which unfortunately just died one day. Epson cartridges are cheaper I was told. Oh yeah? With Lexmark if the black ink ran out you just got a new black ink cartridge, something you could do manually (i.e. no need to plug into the laptop).
With the Epson I have to renew all the cartridges irrespective of whether or not I need colour, and it’s not a straightforward operation as it was with the Lexmark.
Why not try compatibles? suggested this guy in a shop that didn’t stock Epson cartrides. I did. Had to go through the head cleaning operation but they did work after a a few trial runs/poor copies. However, it wasn’t long before they ran out. Replaced the alleged ‘empty’ one. Next thing I know another one suddenly shows up as ‘empty’, followed by another. Replaced all of them. Printer/copier now refuses to accept the compatibles. I’ll now order the Epson multipack. If that doesn’t work the printer will find itself on the local tip and I’ll get a Lexmark again.

Best-Gig and Cartridge Point share the same business address but I was charged p&p twice for orders placed togther that could have been combined but came in separate packages, delivered together! It’s already a hefty rate at £4.50 per item. No reply to my email complaint to Cartridge Point customer services. The product is fine, the service from these companies not so great in this instance.

This is really aimed at people who dont read. Postage charges are clearly stated when the order is placed. Amazon set the postage rates, so READ!!!!!
There is always a choice, think its too much dont buy it!!!!!!!!!!
There isnt a lot of ink in these, but compatibles are risky (i used to sell em, and i wouldnt use them on my printer!!)
In my view this is a good printer, cheap in the first instance, the ink does not last long.

This cartridge was supplied to but proved to empty. The company that supplied would not replace until the old cartridge was sent back to them. I am no very happy with the reponse & service.

Item arrived quickly but it was not recognised by the printer. Now i have to quickly find another one and cannot print any work for A-Levels. Don’t waste your money on this.
