I bought this to produce art and photography prints as it claims to have excellent print longevity.

The quality of the photo prints is superb, but it also does well for some general office printing. The only complaint is that the first ink cartridges run out quite quickly since they are needed to prime the printer, but thankfully you can buy individual inks of the colours you use most often.

After going through 2 HP Photosmart D5160 printers within 6 months I decided the time had come to give Epson a try and went for a P50. Overall its a superb piece of kit giving excellent results on all types of photo paper and chipped carts are cheap as chips off of ebay. Five stars – you really can’t go wrong with this one.

This inexpensive printer has all the great features of really expensive printers. It has 6 individual inks, very quiet running, first class printer with great photo results.

As an avid Epson printer user the Epson P50 has not let me down. After deciding to purchase a slightly cheaper model this time – I was a little dubious to how it would perform against my previous printers by Epson. I am not disappointed. After loading the drivers from the cd supplied, my computer recognised the P50 immediately. The print quality is as good as any other photo printer I have had from Epson and the supporting software that comes with the printer is great. The only downside is that it is a little noisier than previous models, but I can live with that. The 6 cartridge use is a must – allowing you to change only the colour that is required, plus for photo-quality photo printing (as this printer is) 6 individual cartridges is a must. Overall – for a budget priced printer the quality is superb. I have marked the rating down to 4 because of the slight noise the printer gives. Again – I would recommend this printer to anyone and well done to Epson.

This modern and reliable printer is despatched with a full set of the 6 inks needed and is easy to install after a fiddley bit of unpacking! There seems to be tape everywhere but at least it prevents damage in transit.

Installation took only a couple of minutes following the detailed instructions and it was up and running.

The quality of print is excellent and it is fast too. I have previously run an R300 and this is a very worthwhile replacement. Photo quality is easily as good as the R300 and it is very quiet in operation. I would recommend this printer especially to people who are printing photographs.

It shows the remaining levels while it is printing which is helpful too.

I have found that it is easily capable of printing on fairly weighty papers, I have been able to print on card about 200 micron thick or 260 gsm weight.

A very good all-round printer at a reasonable cost.
