I have recently purchased the Epson Stylus Photo PX810FW Printer as a replacement for a stand alone Epson printer and a Brother Printer scanner fax which both cluttered up my home office. The new Epson PX810FW printer although having a large footprint with the duplexer drum fitted at the back it still is small and compact in comparison with having separate stand alones and it looks a lot smarter. All of the general office productivity printing are handled well including faxing and copying, and with the duplexer and sheet feeder on top it has got a professional feel. The plus is the excellent photo printing, with the right paper the images are clear and bright, better than some of the ones I have paid for. The wifi connect ability was easy to set up and has opened the printer up to other users around the home. My only slight criticism is the build, It all feels robust enough for use in the home office and for general home use, but I wouldn’t place it in general use in the business office.

Arrived when said it would, easy to set up works well wired and wireless. Glad I bought it as a replacement for Epson 1290 photo printer. Separate colour cartridges means less wastage, already seeing the different usage rates. recommend it. Scanning and copying functions work well.

I recently bought this Printer after having to replace a HP office jet g55 which was great for the time i have had it just needed something with better quality, after reading many reviews and comparing to other All in one printers this one stood out, the one thing that has amazed me the most is the quality of photo prints, having a printer that scans prints faxes and copies, is great but the quality of photos it produces is amazing I compared these to other photos i have had developed in the past and these were good as u can get, the speed in which it does them is great too features like wifi is a bonus, i think now I am going to have to invest in a better camera after seeing what i can produce with this printer, recommend to all.

I posted my review with 5 * few weeks ago. It only took three weeks the black nozel stop working. Thanks to Amazon it was replaced even before returning. Unfortunately the replacement also had the same problem but this time with Yellow nozel.

This printer has great specifications and excellent colour photo printing. What can I do if I can’t use it more than a few weeks.

I just returned the replacement too.

I waited a year before writing my review.

This printer is an updated version of the PX800FW. I should make clear my comments are based on that machine not the PX810FW but I believe the main features haven’t changed.

GOOD NEWS: Reasonably easy to set up, neat looking, quick, quiet and produces beautiful quality.

BUT: drinks ink. In moderate domestic use, have spent £140 on ink in 1 year.

BIGGER BUT: Ink clogs the print head. You have to run a software driven routine to flush the head with about £10 worth of ink. Some websites recommend doing this flush three or four times to be effective.

Unlike other makes, the Epson print head is fixed in the machine, not replaced with the cartridge. This means that eventually, even if you flush, it clogs up. Basically the machine is unusable after 13 months. Now it’s happened I’ve found on the web that this is a common Epson problem. It is theoretically possible to dismantle and clean the head, but it means dismantling the entire machine which is not within my skill, and still may not work. I expect to have to scrap the printer – it’s out of warranty, of course.

Before buying this I recommend you type PF800W in the Amazon search bar and read other people’s reviews (not mine) of that machine, as it uses the same ink and (I think) same print head.
