I use this with a Sansa Clip+ 8GB. It charges the Clip+ using the USB cable supplied with the MP3 player and it even allows the Clip+ to play while it’s charging, with no ill-effects on the music. I’ve even used it with a USB extension cable and it works fine (as you’d expect, but I had to check).

I now use this to power my Clip+ while it’s playing through my HiFi at home – as well as charging it when away from home (e.g. on the train) when I don’t have or don’t want to boot up my laptop.

Considering there are other items at twice the price or more that don’t do any more than this, you might wonder where the extra money goes. Well, this plug/adapter is well made enough, but it’s hardly luxury finish. But there again, how often to closely examine wall plugs? The USB socket could possibly have a tighter fit when I use my USB extender, but it’s not as though it doesn’t hold it well enough and it still works perfectly OK. And don’t expect any fancy retail packaging (that you’d only recycle anyway) or any instructions — it’s obvious how you use it!

Overall I’m extremely pleased I didn’t spend that extra money getting something a lot more pricey. Like I say, this does exactly what you need at a very low price.

If you purchase this plug, take care when using it.

The plug sent to me blew up with sparks and blackened the wall socket the first time it was switched on.

It was lucky the mp3 player being charged was not damaged, and no one was hurt, apart from the shock.

However the seller replied promptly to my feedback, refunded the purchase cost, and will be contacting the supplier about the defective item.

An excellent item if you need to recharge a Sansa Fuse MP3 player from the mains. The price paid was less than Potobello Market and of better quality.

I own a Sansa View, and my brother a Sansa Fuse. I purchased this plug because my View is (as are a lot of other peoples, I gather from Sansa’s own boards) a very tempremental piece of equipment. Mine will occasionally charge from my laptop, occasionally from my PC, occasionally from the USB port in the stereo, and occasionally (No matter what system setting it’s on) it refuses to charge from anything.

So when Sansa’s tech support couldn’t help me with the problem (and insulted my intelligence to boot!) I bourght this. And she’s proved just perfect. I’ve only tried charging it twice from this, but I’m really impressed, and it’s a lot more convenient for me and my brother then turning the laptop on all the time!

I’m really impressed, which is more then I can say on the whole for the Sansa View!
