You cannot see it from the product shots, but the case is made of a rigid plastic in two halves. You put your phone inside and they snap together. The halves are attached well enough to resist casual attempts to open, however it’s not hard to release your phone if you dig a finger-nail between the two sides.

Each half of the shell is held together by a very thin plastic tab in each corner. The name “Armor” case suggests that it’s made of tougher, thicker plastic however the manufacturers fail to mention that the four plastic connector tabs are very frail and can easily pop open or shatter at the slightest impact.

The consequence is that this case can protect your phone from some casual scratching but you cannot reasonably expect it to save your device in the event of a drop. I do not think this is an effective product.

Best case i’ve found for the desire which has a similar feel to the Casemate product. Downside is that the part where it snaps together are not substantial enough and break after a few days of use.

Plastic and brittle, the corner fasteners are extremely frail and one was even broken the first time I was trying to put the thing on my phone. The fit doesn’t seem to be very good either and there are large unattractive gaps down the seals. I agree with the other comments that the product description and picture couldn’t be further from the truth. Product is awful, the seller was efficient… I would probably recommend going for the silicone cover.

Not to be harsh but beware of how fragile this can be and how in my eyes inaccurate the product description is. Its more plastic than hardened rubber. to be frank it broke before i even put the case on my phone. i snapped the side by accident whilst holding. Call it bad luck. but it made me think what would happen if i dropped my phone with the case applied.

Put it on, fitted fine. Took it off, one of the clips broke, and that’s it, broken.

Cheap, breaks easily. Avoid.
