I gave this item 4 out of 5 on the basis that the name is a little misleading, its not actually a high resolution model.

However, for the money I think you would have be very naive to think that it was – just look at the cost of the real high resolution frames!

This frame is relatively cheap and is a really solid product. It is half to a third of the cost of some of the high end items but I doubt they get double or triple the performance out of their products.

I thing I would advise anyone looking at this frame to do their research – if they want a top of the line picture then this is not the item for them. I think those that have complained or have given low rating on the item should be prepared to pay top money if they want a real top product.

However if they want a good picture at a reasonable price then this is the item for them. After purchasing one for myself I have purchased a few more as presents and would recommend the item.

I wanted a digital frame with a calendar and clock as a present for a friend to have on his desk. After about twenty minutes of button pressing I worked out all the menus and options only to find that the “calendar and photo” option didn’t work, it just displays a calendar. To make matters worse, whenever the unit is turned off the calendar and clock reset to the factory defaults even when the unit is left plugged in to the mains. Other irritations include the unit displaying a menu when turned on (rather than just displying the pictures) and a tendency to crop the heads off people even though my kodak frame with the same resolution and aspect ratio displays them with the heads intact. Picture quality was also disappointing compared with my kodak frame which only cost ten pounds more so all in all a big thumbs down from me.

HannsG 7″ Hi-Res Digital Photo Frame with USB and Card Reader – Black

For the price this is good value for money. Granted it isn’t Hi Res and you can see the pixels close up but it produces a very good clear picture. And I can’t imagine anyone would display a digital photo frame in such a way that you could see the pixels, you would have to be very close to it. I have bought it as a gift and wouldn’t hesitate to buy another at this price.

This photo frame is excellent value for money. It may not have some of the features you can get on more costly frames, but when you only need to display pictures and can’t afford to go out and spend £100s on a gift this frame is ideal. It looks smart too! Especially in white!

A value for money item. Excellent if you are not after HD. SD memory card is a must as internal memory is relatively small (12-15 pics). Easy to use, plug and play.
