This item ws better than I thought. You can release the lead from the plug and use it to connect the Sat Nav to my computer! Great.

Purchased for a Nuvi 765 – This charger is 100-240V input and 12V output.
The 12V car adaptor contains electronics to drop the voltage to 5V – connecting directly to a USB port on a PC provides 5V and the mains charger should have an output of 5V.
Do not use this charger – It’s the wrong one!

thought i was buying a garmin product but got a motorola phone charger instead, does the job, but have the same thing in the house, why not say it in the advert for sale, only 1 star, be carefull,

I bought this product so as to test the Garmain 265W satnav I purchased. All I did was connect the plug to the ac socket so after about 3 or 4 hours I tested the Garmin on a bright and sunny day and was quite happy with the result. I think it is a good idea to have this in the home so as to charge the satnav if you wish to travel first thing in the morning. Excellent device. Liza
