I have just bought this charger for use with my Creative Zen MP3 player. It has an ordinary square-pin UK plug on one end and, from the other, the lead connects into the player. When everything is plugged into the mains, the charger glows green so that you know it’s on and the battery light on the player shows, so you can tell when it is fully charged. It seems to work fine.

All you would need is a standard continental adaptor (which you’re likely to have anyway) and you should be set up for charging your MP3 player away from a computer more or less anywhere in Europe. I aim to be trying it out pretty soon.

It is much, much cheaper than the official product sold by Creative. This seems to come with several detachable plugs for use in unspecified, exotic destinations. But why bother with all that expensive (and losable) paraphernalia if you’re just planning to travel in Europe and this simple charger does the job perfectly well?

Creative sell a charger for their mp3 players at around £13-20, dependant on where you buy this.

this charger is £4.75 delivered to mainland UK

it works well.

standard UK 3 pin plug, white.

has long wire.

on the end is USB, so might work with other USB devices, not sure haven’t tested.

BUT DEFINITELY WORKS WITH CREATIVE ZEN (mine was 16gb)

when it is charging a large green light comes on that is quite mesmerizing, i stared at it for a good 30-45 seconds.

came in a jiffy bag, lined with bubble wrap.

inside was a square box and inside that was the charger.

the package is small enough to fit through a letterbox.

all in all, well worth the money.

This is a good cheap charger. It’s a lot slimmer than in the picture.

I bought it for my Zen X-Fi 32GB and I can confirm it does charge it.

Only niggles are that it feels a tad flimsy and the green LED is far too bright. But for the money you can’t go wrong!

I purchased this cheap adaptor and it worked fine for several days before it stopped working (my Zen coincidentally stopped working at the same time but fortunately it was within 30 days of buying from Argos and so simply replaced).

On reporting the fault to KMS it was replaced very quickly. The replacement also worked fine for a matter of days but this time it went bang to notify me that it had stopped working, blasting the sealed back off the plug unit and revealing a scorched interior with no fuse. Thanfully the Zen player was not affected on this occasion.

Needles to say I would recommend that this product be avoided.

Just thought I’d mention that this works perfectly on my Zen V 8GB player since some chargers I’ve bought online seem to fail at their job.
