The advent of Blu-ray technology has led to the introduction of high capacity storage discs to meet the demand caused by the rapid growth of high definition television (HDTV). Blu-ray discs get their name from blue laser technology. The shorter wavelength of the laser is the reason it is blue in colour. The blue laser has a wavelength of 405nm compared with the wavelength of 650nm for DVD which utilises red laser technology. The benefit of having a blue laser with a shorter wavelength means it is possible to write smaller data pits and therefore vastly increase the amount of data on the disc. Blu-ray discs offer 3 to 5 times the storage capacity of a standard recordable DVD disc, enabling the recording, rewriting and playback of high definition video (HD).

Bought these for a Panasonic Blu Ray recorder and a PC with Liteon Bluray recorder drive. No problems at all.
Play-back is great on Panasonic, Samsung, and Sony drives I have tested.
Label printing on Canon printers is superb. Set inner circle size to 40 mm to avoid smudging of ink from the non-printable centre.

My LG BH08 rewriter had a problems with these because the burner detected them as 8X.
As a result the burner kept cycling to try and work, I had to switch everything off to recover.
The simple solution was to set the burner to 2X and all was OK.

I ordered 50 of these for doing some HD Video backups. The print is clear and sharp from my Canon IP5000 and there have been no failures to record on either of my two bluray record drives. Excellent product and good value.
