I’ve heard that its not too unusual for iPhone 3g owners to buy chargers that simply don’t work with their phone. This car and mains charger works with my iPhone 3g.

Cable is 1m long – its shorter than the Apple cable that comes with your phone. This is much too short for me. It means it might not stretch from mains socket to table top. You may find that if your cigarette lighter is on your dash then you wont be able to put your phone towards the back of the passenger seat.

The cable itself seems very thin and fragile. Although this cable works, it is cheapo rubbish, really. The iphone connector is big and clumsy compared to Apple’s and if I dropped my phone with this connected I’d worry about damage to the iphone connector.

All the items feel light and plastic-y.

The good points:

The chargers just have USB sockets on them so you can use any iPhone charger/sync cable with them (like your Apple one). They work!

And its cheap. Indeed, I would say its great value for money when you consider how much you can pay for such items with the same functionality. You get what you pay for.

I just wanted something to go in my glove box for the odd occasion I’m caught with low charge when traveling. This does the job perfectly well and I’ve saved quite a few quid!

Recommended for occasional (or careful) use.

I bought this because of my new iPhone 3G’s shockingly short battery life. It works very well, charging the iPhone in my car, as well as the 2nd charger for ordinary electric sockets. The charging cable is also longer than that provided with the iPhone, which means that, if necessary, I can use the phone comfortably whilst it is charging.

It is also very good value for money.

This product is extremely good value for money and gives me the full flexibility I am looking for. I can charge my I-phone from my laptop, a standard power socket or car cigarette lighter., I never need to have an uncharged phone. Add a continental adaptor and I can travel across Europe with just one charger.

I bought two of these – one for the car and one for my briefcase. I carry a classic iPod & iPhone 3GS so both SHOULD be OK with them according to the description.

I was happy to pay the extra few pounds to have a retractable cable and flexibility to use in the car or at a power outlet.

All would be perfect, except for the message my iPhone 3GS shows in the car. It says that the device isn’t approved and won’t allow it to recharge it. However, in the 5 minutes it has already been charging. This would be OK except for the temperature that the plug that goes into the cigar lighter – it’s VERY hot and, if left for some time I suspect it could potentially be dangerous.

PLEASE REMOVE “iPhone 3GS” FROM THE SUPPORTED ITEMS OR FIX THE FAULT.

This was a gift and they love it. How good to have a cord that reels itself in when not in use and can go anywhere.
