As the kind of driver who demands control of his own tunes (personal obsession – sorry) I’m always looking for a CD unit that I can control with my eyes shut. As I don’t like looking away from the road to change tracks, the best CD players always have simple interfaces with the fewest buttons possible, arranged in an easily accessible format and big enough so that I can stab at them without looking and be fairly sure that I will hit the button I was after. Simply put, this hits all of those bases perfectly. Add that to the usual 3.5m port for MP3 players, the USB port for memory sticks (something that I’m using more and more) and excellent sound quality.

The only problem, although this will probably sound like a really poor reason to give 4 stars instead of 5, is that no case is provided for the detachable faceplate. You can either buy your own and hope it fits, or go without a case and risk snapping something off the rather breakable faceplate. It seems like a really silly flaw in what is otherwise a fantastic system for this price.

I purchased this item because of the mp3 features. You can plug in your mp3 player direct via the aux in (on front panel) or usb (also on front panel). If you use the aux in (simply connect using a stereo speaker 3.5mm mini-jack from your headphone jack on the mp3 to the aux in on the unit) you can control your music selection from the mp3 player only.If you choose to use the usb connection you will have full control of your music via the unit itself, unit displays information providing the TAG option (through the units menu)is selected, also charges the mp3 player via the usb.

Excellent product with ease of use and excellent sound quality as expected with a product from this manufacturer.

My purchase did not come with English instruction manual, this can be downloaded in PDF file from the JVC website quite easily.

Would recommend this product.

This stereo will not play i-pod the manufacturer states WMA WAV only, we only found out after fitting, when plugging our i-pod into the USB port.

On the plus side it looks good, is robust and reasonably easy to use although it seesm to ‘lose’ settings.

I bought this model in particular for front facing USB and jack-plug input. Sound is very good, its easy to set up and use, buttons are easy to find – can’t fault it. It finds the USB devices everytime (unlike some other radios I’ve tried) and the track navigation although simple (dont expect an IPod interface) is easy to use.

The instructions came in every language except english (!) but they were easy to find on the internet.

Straight in, turned it on and off it goes.

Nice big knob for adjusting the volume, much better than silly little buttons that you can only hit when driving on newly laid tarmac.

The usb port is great. Drag and drop to your usb memory stick, bung it in and off you go. No more cds flying around the cab.
