Placed order at 8 o’clock on Monday evening. Received confirmation of payment and dispatch at 10:45 Tuesday morning. Delivered in good condition to my home address at 12:55 Thursday. That is an excellent delivery time to the Isle of Man. First class service from Netgadgets. What more can you ask?

And the Tripod – well, opening the box – no instructions? – no problem. Assembly and set up could not be simpler. Have they sent me the right tripod? Well the order said HQ, this says Konig. Ah! I see. Same thing, different label. There’s two boxes, one with the tilt/pan head and one with the tripod. I just fit the two bits together. Two quick release adapter plates for rapid swapping of cameras. Check out the quality of the materials., all very robust looking. Extending the legs. Very smooth, a single turn of the knobs, locks, rock solid. Two pan handles supplied for left or right hand operation. Ball and socket adjustment of the head so you can get true horizontal pans with the aid of the multi-axis bubble level. The head itself has finger tight locking levers for the handle and adapter plate and a larger one for the tilt, all of which, when locked can, be put tidily out of the way. I also find there’s a handy spring loaded hook on one of the tripod legs which I assume is to hang extra ballast bags for added stability. That’s what I will use it for, anyway!

I also went for the Tripod Dolly for Professional Camera/Video/Lighting Very High Quality. Same great quality and robustness. Just flip open the two legs and they lock into position. Drop the tripod legs onto the clamps and screw up the bolts finger tight. It glides along on soft rubber castors which are fully lockable, which means you can track or lock down without having to dismount the dolly.

Both are supplied with carry bags to prevent your kit crashing about.

I have seen similar tripods for over a grand so this will be a bargain for the amateur or professional film maker on a tight budget. It would also be a great tripod for birding / digiscoping or zoom photography.

This is amazing value. the fluid head is steady and provides exactly what I need at an affordable price.

The tripod’s heavier than others I’ve used, and not always so quick to adjust, but then it comes at a fraction of the price of the higher end tripods, and it allows me to do smooth tilts and pans, which is all I was asking for.

Altogether a good buy. The bag for carrying it is also good and a lot smaller than others I’ve used, so it’s easy to carry around.

I concur Mr Fryers review of 8 Nov 08. This is an excellent value tripod. It was superbly packed in very strong cartons. The product oozes quality and is easily the equal of much more expensive tripods. The carry case is very good too, and the tripod comes with an extra camera base plate. Apart from the free leather camera case (only of use if you have a 35mm camera)there is a small cleaning kit including a mini table tripod. The Tripod Dolly for Professional Camera/Video/Lighting which I also bought, is excellent too and by the same Konig company. Seldom do I feel chuffed about a purchase – but this is one time I am pleased to enthusiastically endorse a product. One point, there is no controlling facility for rotating the whole head without releasing the screw clamp which then makes levelling during panning a purely random and manual function. A pity – otherwise a score of 95% would go to 99.9%.

If you’re still struggling with a tripod that won’t pan smoothly, wobbles, or just doesn’t have the solidity to make your shots look professional, buy this!

The build quality is first class, just as good as many I have tried for four times (or more) this price.

Especially if you’re a “Prosumer” – someone more professional than a consumer but without the budget for what is considered “professional” gear, this is absolutely the right buy. It’s heavy – stays put, and the pan and tilt head that comes with it a well up to professional standards. Smooth pans, even on full zoom are possible.

The pan is maybe a tad on the stiff side, but this is a minor niggle. The important things are, it doesn’t jerk when starting a pan or ‘retrack’ a bit when stopping. A serviceable carrying bag that takes the tripod (with the head attached) all comes with it.

Well recommended.

This is a very very very good tripod made from really solid material. It’s strong, sturdy and has an excellent fluid head that produces some really good looking pan shots.

This is a top quality product…it will not disappoint!
