It fits everything that I need to bring with me whenever I go out to take pictures. I have just started out with photography and this fits my Canon EOS 500D perfectly! I also carry a notepad, wallet, pen, bits and bobs. Very happy with the purchase and at this price you can’t go wrong.

This Lowepro case is well made and it is ideal as a camera bag, just not a DSLR as it is too small. To accommodate a DSLR (I have a Canon 40D with EF S 17-85mm lens) I have to take the lens off the body to be able to store both in the bag. The body with lens attached will NOT fit. This is a real PITA. Who wants to keep removing/attaching the lens every time you put the camera in or take it out the bag? Not to mention the risk of dust or particles getting inside the internal elements of the camera and glass of the lens. A camera with battery grip such as the Canon BG-2EN will NOT fit as far too big plus there is no space to store it safely without damage to either the camera body, lens or itself.

So instead I use it for my aging Canon A1 35mm SLR which has a much smaller body than a digital camera such as the 40D, fitting perfectly with a 28mm and 50mm lens still attached with lots of room to spare. I have tried the fit with a 35-105mm lens on (which is quite big) and the camera and lens together just fit in level with the top then the lid comes down with a fair amount of space in that to spare. However there could be another separator so that the internal space could be divided to hold the camera in position.

There is a side pocket which is divided for memory cards and spare battery. It wouldn’t hold much more than these, certainly not a box of film. Maybe a small notepad if one wanted or a couple of medium sized filters. The expanding front pocket has a bit more space but as the bag lid secures by a buckle on the front at the bottom I should imagaine you couldn’t put too much in it as you couldn’t secure the lid with the buckle as it is not long enough to reach over a full front expanding pocket. It would certainly take a couple of filters, remote switch and mobile. The zip on the other side is not a side pocket but access to the bag to get the lens out to fit to your DSLR.

Perhaps this bag is best suited for some one who wants a bit more space in their camera bag for their point and shoot digital camera. There would then be lots of space to also carry wallet, keys, mobile, I-Pod or MP3 player, or, it would be suited to some one with say a Panasonic Lumix or Canon G10/11 which I think is a bit smaller than a full digital SLR. So only 3 stars as although it’s a good bag and well made, it’s too small for a normal DSLR without taking the lens off which is a real faff the whole time.
