I bought this bag but was unsure if it would be suitable for all my gear:

40D

100-400L with hood

24-70L with hood

10-20 Siggy with hood.

Cables, charger, spare batteries, memory cards etc etc.

I received the bag today and am please to say the gear fits in perfectly. Very snug, but not cramped, and very well protected. The method for twisting the bag round to access the camera works brilliantly. I’m very pleased indeed.

I’d recommend this to anyone considering a new backpack.

This bag is very good in that it looks physically small, doesn’t look like a nerdy camera bag and holds my Nikon D700, 24-70 f2.8, 14-24 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8…plus a teleconverter and all the bits and pieces like cables and chargers securely – the rear opening thing is very handy for lens changing and security too

I have recently read a couple of reviews slating the tripod holder, just wanted to let people know that there is a velcro flap on the bottom of the bag that pulls out a pocket to secure 1 or 2 legs of the tripod depending on the size – this means you can rattle around as much as you like and it will not move!! There is an orange logo to indicate this compartment.

Hope this helps guys..

I spent loads of time reading reviews on amazon and on other sites about which backpack should I buy for my equipment. I needed a backpack since I began to build my photographic equipment and wanted to take it with me on my trips. I found this backpack to suit all my needs in terms of functionality, design and comfort. I have a SLR Camera with a 10-24mm, 70-300mm, 18-55mm and a 50mm Lenses and not only it fits perfectly on the main compartment as I can place also a Flashlight and another Lens. The Lenses Hods fit either strapped to the lens or separately. The other compartment of the bag is used for other stuff like sunglasses, money, etc. There’s also space in the exterior for a bottle of water and I can place securely my Tripod with the system provided (one of the things that made me decide for this bag). Also in the interior there’s a compartment where you can store postcards, papers, etc and they won’t bend. On the side pocket I have placed the memory cards, batteries, passport, etc.

All in all it’s a great product and after a 2 week trip to Scotland I was very satisfied with this backpack. I only give it 4 starts because obviously, if you’re going to Scotland you’ll need a good waterproofed backpack which I didn’t think this can handle, so I just bought (for 5£) a waterproof cover which fits good with this bag. And I think it was very worth it because I caught some really heavy showers without having much of a shelter.

What a neat product! I was surprised at how much I could fit in. I had considered the Flipside 200, but needed the extra space that the 300 gives. It easily fitted my Canon Eos 1d with a 28 – 105mm L Series Lens attached, along with a flash and spare batteries (3 in all). I had plenty of room left to take another small / medium size lens.

I carried at least 7 KG’s for 3 weeks while trekking. While it was confortable, and the weight distribution was good, at times I consious of the weight. (For long periods of use, with lots of gear, expect backache!) The water bottle holder is a great addition, and in my case, a really usefull feature.

The feature I liked the most though, was the security that the opening of the backpack affords you. Any inconvienience of having to remove your pack to access your camera was negated by the fact that while you are wearing it, no one else was able to “help themselves” to your precious goods! Great comfort when getting close and personal on packed chinese trains.

On the whole, a well made, SECURE, well thought out product at a reasonable price.
