These are very good looking well made units and the quality is near perfect. The range however is way overstated in real life usage. From inside a building to inside a car the max achieved was 1km. Did not expect the max range in these circumstances but did expect further than achieved. If you want quality, good looks and range is not the big issue – good buy. If you want range – maybe look at licensed bands and extra power.

i got these for fishing for my 11 year old daughter there tough and can stand the knocks from a youngster who thinks all things grow on trees still going fine after getting damp threw the night and dropped and trood on ,they pack well into our kit with no aerial to break off a little time delay when keying to talk but you soon get use to that. over all a good product and a 2 year warrenty long battery life,rechargable i nice little’outtie-shouttie’.

Generally these radios work very well. The only main drawback is you have to make a pregnant pause before talking or the receiver misses the first couple of words.

Haven’t tried out the claim of 6 km range yet but perfectly adequate for my purpose – horse riding (better than shouting to other rider). No earpiece with it however, I obtained adapter and boom mike from Maplin to fit and seperate earpiece/ptt from amazons german third party supplier. Both work well. Radio set up instructions easy to follow and antenna being enclosed into top of radio ensures it can’t get broken easily. Excellent value for the money.

Bought this item to use on holiday in L.A. Could not get it to charge whilst in the US so defeated purpose of buying item with docking station. Reception was fine when it was working.
