As usual I received promptly from Amazon. All I needed was unpack and plug in it worked no installation on PC needed. It works as promised. 3 times last couple of months I need to reconnect but it is minor problem. My observations: Netgear support is always at hand if needed. There is a configuration utility on accompanying CD I installed a useful tool. After what I see connection is fast, stable and would recomond. You can not use the plug where this adapter is connected, Netgear tells me that soon they will come up with a newer version soon which can be.

This product worked absoutely superbly for me. I was getting a 50%-60% signal via wireless, resulting in pretty poor download speeds of around 4-8MB (I have 20MB Virgin broadband). Once I’d plugged these in (and I did use an extension lead) I was getting fantastic results, with download speeds of 15-18MB. It was as quick as if I’d plugged directly into the router via ethernet. It’s definitely worth a try if you’re wireless network isn’t great and this could not be any easier to use. It is literally plug and play, no software. Can’t recommend these highly enough!

Only getting 50Mbps but that’s fast enough. One thing to note is that they don’t work if they’re plugged into remote on/off plugs (only use the Powerline kit infrequently & didn’t want to have to keep the plugs accessible). However, small price to pay for effective kit

I brought these to use on a machine which will not work with a wireless network but I wanted to place in a location where laying a cable would be unsightly, I looed at a few alternatives but settled on these and was glad I did.

They worked straight out of the box, plug it in, connect an ethernet cable and they just talk to each other, no software needed, they just work. Whilst no software is needed, there is a utility provided which allows certain changes to be made. One of these allows you to turn the three bright flashing LEDs off, you will want to do this if you use these in a darkened room.

The manual tells you not to plug these into a powerstrip, I ignored this and pluged it into one (though not surge protected) and it worked, not only did it work but it seems to run at full speed (200Mbps). Unless you have gigabit devices and cabling then 200Mbps will be perfectly fast enough.

There really is not much more to say about these as they just work and sit there quietly allowing you to connect machines together. I have found these to be easier to set up than wireless and more reliable.

I originally purchased a pair of these to cure the connectivity problems with my Squeezebox Boom. The Squeezebox would not connect for more than a few minutes over a wireless connection despite being in the next room to the router. I was planning how to get some CAT5 to it when someone suggested these adapters. They worked perfectly when installed, I have since purchased another and the Squeezebox works really well. Some software is provided which enables you to turn off the 3 monitor LEDs if their flashing would be a nuisance, and to set up encryption. I since purchased a third unit for my BT Vision box, which also provides a stable network connection. They are a little wider (70mm) than I would have liked, which restricts the choice of any mains plug or adapter next to it. I have not experienced any interference from any mains powered device on my house wiring. So, highly recommended, as is the Squeezebox if you can maintain connectivity. Logitech Squeezebox Boom
