I’m big on gadgets and like a product that actually has some thought behind its design. This frame wins hands down on features with 2GB memory and an internal battery. The auto-rotate is the cream on the cake for me. The menu system is easy to use and the hi resolution screen is just what the doctor ordered to compliment my new fancy Nikon camera. It just seems crazy for me to scrimp on the frame displaying my photos taken on my expensive camera. Funnily enough this frame cost less than the new case for my camera.

The black colouring and the styling of the frame has a quality to it that I hope very much will still look good after 5 years or so. That really made the decision for me. I’m convinced that the white or slightly plasticky looking designs of the other frames will just look dated after a year or two.

I bought this frame for my parents to give them better access to pictures of their grandchildren. The frame is very nicely finished and packaged, and I was instantly impressed by the image quality, although the factory settings for tint and colour were not good for skin tones and these settings had to be adjusted. The frame is very good value for money compared with similar products from other brands. The 2GB internal hard drive means that lots of photos can be loaded on — all my parents have to do is switch it on and off, and they don’t have to fiddle around with tiny memory cards. The only gripe that I have is that the process of loading pictures on the hard drive via the USB port is a little awkward and time-consuming, although it’s simple enough to understand. The on-screen menus were obviously not written by a native English speaker.

Bought this as a birthday present. Very pleased with it. On-board 2Gb storage is really useful, as is the rechargeable battery.

Instructions, on product and in the user guide, aren’t that easy to follow, but OK.

Only disappointment is that it doesn’t have random play, so on start up it always returns to first photo. Yes you can use the thumbnail view to select where you want the slideshow to start, but with 2GB of photos loaded this can take a while. However, this does not stop me recommending this product. I would have rated this as 5 stars if it had remembered where it was when you shut it down, or had random mode. If you want this facility you will need to buy the 8 series.

Nice to have a calendar and time view whilst viewing photos. Also, 4 photos per screen is a useful function.

Highly recommended.

Have installed numerous photgraphs onto the frame. The reproduction is superbly clear and the sharp resolution really shows the photographs to their full potential. One minor ‘glich’ with the stand, slightly damaged and didn’t support the frame securely enough for my liking. A quick email to NIX resulted in a same day reply (on a Saturday!)and a replacement stand in the post. The internal storage is commendable, and all other USB sockets and SD slots are easily accessible, whilst the plastic doesn’t look ‘plasticky’ if that makes sense i.e. it is of good quality. Overall I am delighted with the purchase. Give it serious consideration. At the current price well worth the money.

This seemed to be the only frame I could find that met all my requirements, a hi res screen, a battery and memory. After using the frame for a couple of weeks I’m very happy with it. The battery works fine and lasts around 2 – 2.5 hours, the memory works as advertised. I was very happy with the screen, but at first I didn’t have much to compare it to, but after having just seen a sony in the shops I would say the screen on this frame is about the same quality as the hi-res sony screen.

Only other things worth mentioning are that the touch controls make life easy when you’re using the frame in cordless mode, as you grip the frame with your left hand and use your right hand to operate the touch controls on the right side of the frame. Simple, well thought out and works well. Other thing is the frame is pretty much idiot proof – just insert your memory card and it starts automatically playing your photos.
