this product is a great, much needed purchase, as my standard one broke (in fact, it frayed near the connector, so I’d watch out for this.) The picture is misleading, however; you do in fact get the plug end with it as well! (so now I have 2 plug – end – bits floating around.)

i like others have an old hp laptop with a battery saver charger cable which has worn close to the input socket(hp note common fault) i have purchased cheaper inportted products from a well know auction site which lasted a few hours and burntout
the hp product is usable out of the box and it does come with plug end cable so dont take amazon recommended replacment socket, the original charger lasted 4 years so dont expect this to last anything less
pays to buy the originals and save in the long run

It was great to find the original HP Compaq charger. The problem with the old charger was with the head which was loose and not connecting into the laptop socket properly leading to no charge. This is a common problem for this type of head that come with the compaq laptops which happens after a year or two use.
Charger arrived in 3 days promptly. No power lead ……but hey you have your old power lead with the old one…..the guys have to make some profit and save on postage.
Overall delighted to get the charger and getting the laptop back to life. Compaq V2250EA model.
Highly recomended and you will not get an original charger for less out there with the Amazon guarantee.

Ordered late on Tuesday evening when original broke. The package arrived on Thursday morning using the free delivery option and worked as soon as connected. Also, contrary to the product description, you do get the plug end of the lead as well. Overall, I would recommend this retailer to anyone.

The product arrived in a few days ok. works well with my compaq c500ea. just curious as to if it may be that the hp labelling is cut out and pasted on a normal generic a/c adapter. I always wonder why there is that bit cut out. anyone thinking this way? just wondering if should have just bought the replacement adapter and not bothered with a HP ‘original’.
