A an extremely effective case if you want the phone protected from children/toddlers. They can fight over what app to play without any worry about dropping the phone and the toddle can dribble and drool all they like and no water damage. Very robust construction and quite straight forward to fit and remove (not so for kids though which is a relief). The oily smear; I found that 5-6 attempts of wiping the iphone screen with the palm of your hand eventually removed all traces. While a gave 5* a couple of things to note:

1. It makes the phone quite bulky and feels a bit like putting a small rubber brick to your ear.

2. Access to the phone silent switch is fine to turn the phone to silent but much more fiddly to turn it back on.

3. Not the most aesthetically pleasing case in the world, so if you want to make some kind of fashion statement this is not the cover for you.

Other than the 3 minor points mentioned, this case is exactly what you need to give the iphone as complete protection as you can get; especially in a house full of very charming small children who seek to destroy electronic gadgets.

For my particular lifestyle the Otterbox Defender has proved ideal. Yeah my iPhone looks like it’s on steroids, but who cares as I spend a lot of time playing in an environment that’s full of sand, sea and salt! And that’s just the inside of the car, where I invariably throw the iphone! I do have “water marks”, “bubbles” where the iphone screen abutts the case, but frankly, it’s not a distraction and the touch screen works fine. The main thing is my iphone is protected. Would I recommend it, yes, especially if you’re working/playing outdoors etc…

Looks like a JCB in black/ yellow and feels as durable as one too!

Easy to fit in 3 stages, and includes a screen cover.

We left an aftermarket scratch cover on the screen but might remove this as there are a couple of bubbles due to the tight fit of the case. Wanted to be sure this one did the job first though and it seems nearly bullet proof.

Children have dropped the phone a couple of time and it now can be thrown in a bag without fear of trashing it.

Thoroughly recommended.

Only downsides are:-

Some aftermarket chargers don’t now work as the charging / syncing aperture is the perfect fit for Apple’s lead but not anything larger.

Also it no longer looks like a sleek sexy phone, more of a chunky electronic game, but a small visual price to pay for spot on protection.

If you want to protect your iphone from fall damage while out walking, for instance, then this is the one to get. It is not so suitable for general use.

Love this toy. It’s already paid for itself as I’ve dropped the iPhone more than a couple of times and it’s still going strong
