Panasonic make the best cordless phones. So much better than the normal BT branded products.
Greater signal strength, clearer reception etc. I wouldn’t buy anything else now

The old BT cordless phone died in a lightning strike. It should have gone sooner. The quality and range of this phone (Panasonic KX-TG641ET) is so much better. Matched only by the excellence of the service from Amazon – as usual.

the item was satisfactory but not quite as responsive as I expected it to be e.g. when you press the button to recieve an incoming call there is a marked pause before the caller can actually speak to you. The controls and instructions are clear and staightforward enough for even me to understand which considering that I am a bit of a dinosaur is very good.

Panasonic KX-TG6412ET DECT phones are high quality products that do exactly what you want them to do and do it well. To summarise their good and (very few) bad points:
Pros:
Good build quality
Nice design
Clear and decent sized display
Clear keypad
Good range
Clear audio quality, both inbound and outbound
Easy to set up and programme
Cons:
Terrible selection of ring tones
How well they will last is hard to determine without using them, but based on the feel of the handsets and the base stations I’m not worried about them falling apart on me.
DECT phones are not what I would describe as a luxury product. Unlike mobile phones they don’t need to be all singing and all dancing, with a huge range of extra functions. They just need to make and receive calls clearly and reliably and be easy to use. Based on my experience of using the KX-TG6412ET, these phones do just that.
