Great product!

Did lots of research for a perfect bluetooth headset and came up with this one. The over the ear designs work best for me as they stay in place MUCH better while on the move. However, having tryed a couple of cheep models (motorola and Jabra) i found the speech both incoming and out to be very quiet and low quality, meaning that half the time i had to switch to the handset anyway! I took a bit of pot luch with ordering the Plantronics as i hadnt tryed the fit on my ear but had a good idea of the sound quality. Thankfully it fitted perfect straight out of the box and stayed firmly in place and the in and outgoing sound is wonderfull!

This headset costs a bomb but if yr like me and fed up with buying cheep rubbish that you end up not using because its just a hassle but need the freedom of handsfree then this is the way to go!!!

# VERY HAPPY!!#

Calls are generally very clear. However, sometimes speech over the connection between handset and headset gets garbled and the only way to solve it is to switch to the handset or terminate the call. Some people do say that it makes you sound robotic(!) but most can hear you very clearly and the noise cancelling does work very well (you can stand in the middle of a supermarket with announcements coming over the tannoy and children screaming next to you and the person at the other end of the line can’t hear!

Best Bluetooth I’ve owned by far. Well worth the extra few pounds. Fitted straight from the box and is really comfortable to wear. I drive a lorry and even with the trailer fridge running I can hear clearly and people on the other end can hear me clearly. Great not having to keep repeating myself. Good that you get a mains/USB/car charger in the box which helps justify the slightly higher price but I now see the meaning of you get what you pay for.

Late last year I purchased a Jawbone Prime from Carphone Warehouse as an upgrade to my old Jawbone. Two major factors triggered this purchase: the headsets’ ability to link up with two phones simultaneously and no requirement to maintain contact between the headset and the jaw. However I soon started experiencing difficulties with the headset. Many a times during a phone call, it would lose connection with the phone only to reconnect automatically after 15 to 20 seconds. Despite my best efforts I could not resolve this and eventually got around by connecting it to one device at a time! Most of the people whom I spoke to reported either an echo or a reverb in my voice.

As the luck would have it, I lost it during my house move in December last year. Sad though, this was an opportunity to look at other bluetooth headsets. Money was not an object as I also considered a Bang Olufsen Earset 2. Hours of research over the internet helped me to narrow it down to two headsets; Jawbone Prime and Plantronics Voyager Pro. I intially chose Jawbone Prime again and ordered it from Amazon. A little later I bumped into some reviews from the US and a very helpful real life comparasion between the two, with voice samples recorded under similar conditions. This made me change my mind and I ordered a Plantronics from Amazon, cancelling my previous order. I must confess I was bit uneasy about this leap of faith as I had never used Plantronics before. Few days later, it was lying on my table!

Pairing with Sony Xperia and Nokia N95 was a breeze. I really started respecting myself for making the right decision once I made my first call! The sound quality was exceptional, better than anything I had heard before. The voices of people on the other end were lively, solid and natural. Also none of the people I called reported hearing any echo or reverb! The phone paired off perfectly with two phones without getting cut off during the call. It sat nicely over the ear without any discomfort. It’s long battery life allowed me to make so many more phone calls on the move than the Jawbone Prime.

I would hardly write a review about a product unless it is really exceptional. Writing reviews is time consuming process; espcially for a busy professional. However I could not find a better way to thank Plantronics for producing an amazing product which performs exactly in the manner as I expect it to.

As regards to Jawbone, they also produce good headsets. For many years I have used theirs’. However Plantronics Voyager Pro has proved to be a clear winner for me. Jawbone, you have to come up with a cracker to beat this!

This headset is better than the others I have tried and well worth the money. it is reasonably comfortable and easy to change from your right or left ear.

Sound quality is good in 90% of road conditions – a little muted when road noise is intrusive hence the 4 stars.

The controls are convenient and easy to work out. I decided on this rather than having a handsfree kit fitted to the car as they damage the front facia and this headset is as effective.

You won’t regret buying it – the in car charger works on a Tom Tom.
