Got the unit, plugged it in and it worked. No need to set anything up, no need to translate the (already 4 times translated it seems) instruction manual.

The only sticking point is that the unit doesn’t seem to play “older” encoded avi files. I have not ruled out that this may be a simple matter of codecs though.

Apart from that, this is a lovely little unit for anyone wanting to play any digital media on.

Don’t expect an all singing and all dancing top of the range media device. But do expect great value for money.

THE ONLY THING THIS DVD PLAYER CAN DO IS PLAY NORMAL DVDS AND MP3 AND KODAK FILES IT DOES NOT PLAY AVI OR MP4 AND THAT WAS THE ONLY REASON I BOUGHT ONE IT WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY IT DOES NOT DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN PLUS THE ACTUAL MACHINE ITSELF DOES NOT DISPLAY THE MPEG 4 LOGO IF YOU WANNA PLAY MP4 FILES OR AVI THIS IS NOT THE ONE

A great product for the price, works well with all modes of playing no problems so far, worked from the start out of the box. I will recommend this product.
