I purchased this stylish DVD player with a considerable discount on the best high street price.

I needed a small but discrete player to use with a smaller second tv and this fitted the bill but it would work very well in a main TV set up.

Picture quality is very good and it gives good reproduction of cds through my hi fi system. It was easy to set up and use. CD ripping is a very useful function.HDMI conection excellent but beware no scart which could limit use with older tv

Very pleased and highly recomennded.

PROS

Great picture, nicely stylish. USB makes it easy to play divx without having to convert to DVD. Can fastforward through DIVX at 4x speed, no faster. Fast forwarding through DVDs up to 64x.

DIVX playback looks GREAT. Even on a big screen, you could easily fools friends into thinking it was a HD-DVD (as long as the divx movie is a rip, of course).

CONS

It DOESN’T recognise external HHD (at least, a self powered 300gb one which WAS recognised on the Toshiba SD290). It recognised my 4gb stick 50% of the time, which was annoying.

The tray is VERY flimsy, and the motors sound very weak. It just seems very reluctant to come out, and this destroys any positivity I’m feeling over the style. You want to shout “hurry up!”

Quite noisy – the mechanism doesn’t live upto the sleekness of the casing and sound a bit cheapish.

I actually took mine back for a refund because of the lack of HDD recognition and the awful tray loading.

Lovely looking gadget to start with. Need to buy a separate HDMI cable but i got one for a couple of quid on Amazon at the same time. The picture produced on my LCD TV is fantastic – so different to my older dvd player. Well worth the money.

I bought this upscaling DVD player to replace my old one which took up too much space on my tv cabinet and was becoming tempremental.

I had been playing a balancing act, trying to fit my tv, dvd player and xbox all onto a very small area and this Samsung has made my life so much easier.

First off, it complements my Samsung LCD and works using the DVD buttons on my tv control, so I can use the basic functions without even hunting for the DVD remote.

Secondly, what a stunner. The glossy finish and the stylish design are amazing, and the touch sensitive buttons are a nifty extra.

An HDMI cable is not included, but can be bought for £1 on ebay. I have a fair few knocking around so this was not a problem. With my HDMI cable, it worked straight out of the box and was a doddle to get up and running.

There is also a USB slot which allows for the ripping of cd’s. It can also allow you to put downloaded films onto a memory stick and watch them via your tv without plugging your laptop into the tv.

The remote is small, but doesn’t really create much of an issue, it shall merely be taped to my megatron as a slight addendum.

Can’t fault the equipment at all, and Amazon where lightening quick with it. Purchased using the on click purchasing, and with one day delivery for free using Prime. Magic!
