I wanted to update a 5 year old flat screen 26″ LCD tv with one that was HD ready, and following research opted for this 26″ Samsung. Nice piece of equipment with an excellent picture quality and delightfully lightweight (so easy to move around when connecting etc). Would note it only has one scart connection but as I was connecting to a Sky+ HD box and a Freeview combi box both via HDMI connections this wasn’t an issue. I would note that the sound is a little on the weak side and the volume often has to be quite high (however having looked at reviews such as WHAT HI FI SOUND AND VISION this was not unexpected). HOWEVER, I was slightly confused by the heading for this television which states “with Freeview” as this is not mentioned in the listed technical specs, or on the official Samsung website or in the review on WHAT HI FI SOUND AND VISION and as someone with an analogue aerial having bought the tv knowing that the absence of Freeview was a possibility this does indeed seem to be the case. All in all I’m very happy with this television.

Cannot fault Amazon on this one; ordered free delivery fri afternoon and arrived sat morning. How good is that! Brilliant picture; took a bit of tweaking. You have full control re; callibration, I had to hide the remote after a day for want of further tinkering! The only down side for me was the sound. Having replaced our old Sony Trinitron CRT,which boomed out wonderful deep full audio this didn’t cut the mustard. DO believe those reviews which highlight its rather ‘tinny’ sound. It is VERY tinny. Had to rush out and buy a soundbar (the Sharp (htsb200)incidentally v good)to remedy. If you’re not fussed about sound, have a soundbar or home cinema setup then this is for you!Sharp HTSB200 2.1 channel Sound Bar System

Does exactly what it says on the tin. I have the 40 inch higher end version of this telly too. The picture on this 26″ version is noticably poorer, but then it was £500 cheaper so you’d expect that.

It’s good and light, doesnt strain the chest of drawers which holds it! Navigation menu is quick enough too

This TV was my first foray into the flatscreen market having viewed the wonderful picture on friends’ TVs. It was very smart looking and was very easy to set up but I’m afraid there the praise must end. I found the picture (despite lots of manual correcting) very blurred especially on sporting events i.e. close ups of players were fuzzy and the distant audience barely recognisable. The angle of vision was pretty crucial too, i.e. if not directly in front of the screen, the sharpness was even more compromised.

I’m afraid it had to go back but praise indeed for Amazon’s exceptional returns service – full refund (except for the insurance I had to take out with Parcelforce) and relatively quick. Thank you.

Will look amongst the Panasonics and Sonys now…..

Great TV, excellent picture, sound OK, not overly great but good enough for the kids playroom! Just come sout of the book, easy tune and off you go.

Recommended if you are looking for small, compact and value for money
