Have spent the last two years wondering whether to upgrade from an older Phillips Plasma 37″ TV (pre-HD). I was never sure enough that the HD TV’s were better by enough to justify the cost.

I bought this TV from Amazon (by far the best price and 2 day delivery). On freeview or standard Sky TV the result is only OK, actually not good enough to justify the cost.

On HD source eg Sky HD or Bluray the result is truly excellent. Natural tones, supreme brightness. I find myself watching incidental detail; peoples faces in a crowd, dry gravel on the ground, blades of green grass, and loosing track of the film. To be honest there is some motion blurr, but this is present on ALL screens and it is not a problem for me.

Pulling up JPEG images via a USB stick are also stunning – pin sharp and rock solid.

The sound quality is not a selling point, but not as bad as to be tinny or harsh, in normal watching its fine. We have 5.1 separates system when we watch a film and want more sound impact. This sound and picture combination is Dram-atic :-P)

Build quality is top notch and very good looking

By the way the HDMI cable I run cost me a fiver – don’t waste your money on any more, but do think that a wall mounted TV will probaly need a 3Metre run

I’m well fussy about the kit I buy. I love this TV!!

Go for it!!

As LCD TV’s go this is the very best and has lived up to all expectation, if you are thinking of buying, stop thinking just buy. Amazons delivery service failed at every expectation, I paid to have it delivered by 1pm on a Saturday at 5pm Amazon with great indifference said it will be with you some time next week, they asked if I had somewhere outside it could be left and when I eventually got to City Link to collect it I was offer no help and was told they don’t do lifting. The lesson learnt, is Amazon are good for things that fit through the letter box anything else its worth paying a bit more to get a better delivery service.

I cannot stress enough how good this TV is.

I upgraded to this TV from an older Samsung Plasma Screen, and the difference in picture quality is incredible. I have several devices connected to this TV, such as PS3, PC, Sky + etc, and there has been a massive improvement in all aspects from every device. Most noptably, being able to control my PS3 witjh the TV remote, using the Anynet + system. Much better than using PS3 controller for Blu-Ray playback.

Bottom line; if you are looking for a new TV, I highly recommend Samsung’s LED range. Epic.

First of all this TV is a quality product, and as described elsewhere, looks great. Rather than wall mounting I have the TV on a swivel stand with shelves underneath, which, although not emphasising the svelte lines as well as wall mounting, still looks good. I had a few initial worries, as the standard settings all seemed to produce an excellently sharp picture when showing still scenes, but motion appeared “staggery” to my eyes (not sure if this was motion blur, or juddering, which I had read of as problems with some TVs.) A quick net search and I found some recommended settings on expert sites. These worked well and I have no complaints regarding any aspect of the TV now, and settings can be set for individual inputs instead of globally for all, which is good. Standard TV looks surprisingly good, HD great. All in I am very happy with this choice of TV, although if you are a bit fussy in terms of “did that look strange” moments, you may need to search for customised calibration settings, which then produce excellent results.
