It’s a neat little device and great value at the price, only problem is it has quite a bright led which flashes all the time to show it’s working – could get a little distracting and annoying after a while if your usb slot is right next to the keyboard like mine (if it’s round the back maybe no problem).

I have used Sandisk before and they work well. However I needed a pendrive with password protection and the description on this one indicated that it had the U3 software that enables you to do that. So, like a previous reviewer, I was somewhat disappointed to discover that it does not come with password protection. Hence 3 stars only.

When it comes to storage you don’t want to find that something has failed by buying cheap non-brand items so owning 2 earlier Sandisk Cruzers – which are 1GB each – I had no hesitation in buying more Sandisk product.

Thus far I cannot fault the new cruzer but the so-called retail pack was simply a piece of card with blister to hold the item in place. What details there were, as in warranty etc, was printed on the back in such tiny letters it was hardly worth the effort.

Worse, I thought this cruzer had the U3 software on it but not so and I’m sure it was in the advert details to the same effect…maybe it was a generic advert?

The whole point of my purchase was to have a Sandisk flash drive with a proper opening/closing mechanism and/or password protection.

A trifling point you may say but the item did not match the advertising hence a 4 star rating instead of 5.

After a friend of mine showed me her ‘Sandisk’ memory stick, I decided to buy two for myself for sixth form (simply to back-up my work so if I lost one memory stick I’d still have it on the other).

Regarding the other reviews:

- It does have a ‘tiny metal pole’ which you could attach a small ring to and then attach that onto a key ring but I agree that it would be much easier to attach it to a lanyard.

- ‘quite a bright led which flashes all the time to show it’s working’ – I disagree. It does have an orange coloured LED light which does flash BUT only when it’s transferring files or you’ve just plugged it in etc. At other times, it doesn’t flash but dims and gently glows (again and again) so I personally haven’t found it distracting at all.

Overall:

It’s a brilliant product at a great value. I will definitely be recommending this product to my friends.

(I purchased mine from one of the other sellers called ‘Base’. I didn’t realise it was available by Amazon at the time of ordering unless they’ve only just started selling the product. I ordered the product on the 5th July and the seller informed me the dispatch estimate was the 6th-7th July. It was dispatched on the 6th and I was informed it would arrive between the 9th – 13th. It did indeed arrive on the 9th July so I’m very happy with the seller and the prompt delivery.)

Nice robust USB stick with retractable capless design. Regrettably no longer comes with ring to attach to keyring. The tiny metal pole in the design is too small to attach directly to a keyring, and would require a very thin lanyard, which is not supplied in the box.
