I bought these after a friend of mine showed me theirs. Please excuse the length of this review. I wanted to try to address every point I could.

The sound is excellent. My ipod holds a wide range of music, classical, rock, metal, pop, indy, opera. All of it is reproduced in clear sound with excellent quality and brillaint balance between the treble and bass.

I have not used in ear headphones for a number of years as they hurt my ears so I can’t compare to any brands of those but I can use clip-on over ear headphones for a number of years. I had thought the sound quality on my old clip-ons was great but when I listened to my music through my friend’s pair of these I knew I had to get some as the sound was far superior. So even though my old headphones still work perfectly I’ve replaced them with these.

The colour perfectly matches my Ipod nano which has made me really happy. The decals on the headphones are cool and go well with the student lifestyle I lead. They fold up to a really small size which is excellent for fitting into my bag along side all my lecture materials. They come with a stencil so that you can decorate other items you own with the skullcandy logo. Though I wouldn’t recommend painting it onto your cat like the included diagram shows.

Not sure why so many people complain about excessive sound leakage. I’ve got mine on at a nice volume and they don’t leak the sound people are claiming. I get the feeling that people have them on full blast and are giving themselves permanent hearing loss from the volume of their music if they can be used like speakers around their necks. The full volume these go to is lound, but for the sake of your hearing I wouldn’t recommend putting them that high. With them on the same volume as my old clip-ons I can definitely say that the clip-ons had more sound leakage.

As for looking flimsey. They are made out of plastic, like most modern products, but it is quite thick and therefore unlikely to be easily broken. The hinges where it folds are nice and sturdy, especially the one which not only folds but also twists. The speakers themselves can be rotated around so they will fit onto any head shape/size. The top of the headstrap is padded as are the speakers so they are very comfortable to be worn for long periods of time.

Prodct comes with a lifetime warranty. If it breaks through no fault of your own they will replace them for free. If it breaks due to excessive useage conditions they will give you 50% off your next pair.

Recently purchased a pair of Skullcandy Lowrider headphones which my daughter had asked for as a birthday gift. I’d never heard of these headphones and wasn’t really sure what I was buying but was pleasantly surprised when they arrived as they are great for teenagers and adults alike. Very lightweight and versatile whilst looking super cool. She wears them everywhere and has told me that the quality of sound is superb (much better than her old earplugs)and the earpads are really comfy. I purchased them through an Amazon retailer at a very competitive price and was amazed at the super quick delivery as I live abroad and usually don’t expect items to arrive within two weeks. They arrived within a week and were well packed.

If your like me and want an upgrade from EARPHONES, this may involve you! :)

I love music, listen to it for hours each day. After the standard earphones for the apple Ipod started to break and become uncomfortable, I wanted to upgrade. I have a Ipod nano and an IPhone which I use almost 24/7, especially the Iphone for the calls, texts and internet use. After breaking my 3rd or 4th set of Apple standard earphones I then upgraded to expensive Panasonic earphones. Again I began to break them after constant usage and again after the 4th or 5th set I wanted something reliable with great sound. I then began to look into headphones but most prices were putting me off! I then found the Skullcandy brand which for me was well know. This particular item for the ‘Lowriders’ caught my attention. Cheaper than nearly all headphones I had seen, look great and of a well known Skullcandy origin. I bought them off Amazon and they arrived 3 days after purchase.

Initial impressions were poor :/. They felt ‘plasticy’, cheap and didn’t quite look how I expected them to be on my head. They also seemed to not quite fit right. I was quite disappointed with the appearance and feel of the headphones.

BUT. After some use they grew on me! Where it most matters for sound quality they did their job fine with a noticeable added base and treble effect!

I use them around the house, listening to music just before I go to sleep in bed, going out with friends and listening to music out loud with the Headphones around the neck. Music is surprisingly pure whilst you have them around the neck but the volume limit could be better.

I also found another FANTASTIC use for them. I pluged the headphones into my Samsung TV with the Xbox on. I was BLOWN AWAY with the AMAZING sound quality it produced! I played Forza 3 with a steering wheel setup and you can hear cars coming up behind you, enviroment sounds boosted and the car engine sounds immense! It has a real SIMULATOR SURROUND-SOUND effect. Its BRILLIANT! :D I have also tryed it with the new Call of Duty Game and it has the same effect! You can hear players getting closer out of view, gun shots are loud and ‘basey’ and it really does the job FANTASTICALLY!!!

Overall the headphones are of fantastic sound quality for the price! I would recommend them for anyone my age looking at the same price range around £[]. However, if you are willing to spend extra I would strongly recommend looking at Sony or bigger branded names for the added quality overall. I hope this helped! :)

I was looking for headphones that would block unwanted noises, sit on my head even when it’s windy (important when you’re living in Scotland!)and be easy to fold and put in my pocket. These Skullcandy Lowriders meet my expectations and they are also light – can use them for hours without neck cramps – and look cool. I would definitely recommend them to anybody.

Without being dropped, soaked or anything at all, mine just decided to stop playing music in the right ear after a month, for no reason, wires aren’t bent or anything. It only took two more weeks for the left to go as well.
