I bought this for my wife, who has a tendency of loosing her keys.

I all seemed to work ok while testing it at home, but then she went to town (for the first time after attaching the device to her keys) – and while in shop (in Godalming btw) something started beeping – leading to a evacuation of the shop, as the assistant thought is was the fire alarm, until my wife passed her.

The assistant said – “madam – I think the sound is coming from your purse” – and lo and behold it was the keyfinder – which would not stop beeping until my wife removed the battery! Needless to say the house (and the transmitter) is more than a mile away, so it was something else that triggered the keyfinder.

She is not terribly likely to ever carry this particular keyfinder again…

I returned this after the first hour.

The design is good and the item is robust and easy to use.

However, Nothing happens when you click on the locator pad. You have to repeatedly press and only after 20 seconds will the remote unit bleep. The bleep isn’t that loud either, but it’s OK.

This delay between using one locator and using another is very irritating. When you are late and stressed you need a device like this to be flawless and responsive: this isn’t.

In addition, the instructions could be better. It tells you to remove the battery tabs that insulate the batteries. These are near invisible plastic films underneath each remote which requires the user to remove the battery on all 4 locators and pair each one in turn. If this is aimed, in part, at the elderly then god help them when it comes to setup.

It’s a shame about these flaws as the unit is a good idea, but it’s just not good enough.

This is a bit more bulky than I expected – it works fine but the tags are very cumbersome, you wouldn’t want to stick one to your wallet as it would catch each time it went in or out of a pocket and probably wouldn’t last long.

The concept is excellent but think about what you want to use it on first – if it’s large enough to take one of these comfortably…you probably aren’t going to lose it in the first place.

i bought this because if my daughter manages to get her hands on my keys, it takes me two days to find them. this is great, the only reason i didn’t give it 5 stars is because you sometimes have to press the buttons quite a few times, even when they were side by side when i was testing it. but, i have one fob on my house key and another on my car key and there has been a few times i have literally thanked the lord that i own it because i’ve been on the last minute for something important and its taken me 100% less time to find my keys!

i would definatly keep this in mind for a present for any other mums/absent minded friends! a great buy!

This is unsuitable to put your keys on. The tags are too big and bulky. If you have 2 keys and they fit in a wallet or purse ok, then adding the tag makes it impossible to fit into either. The idea is good but practual use is a no go
