This is a really cool little device, and has great features and sound.

The two issues that prevent it being 5* are:

1) Even when dimmed, the display puts out too much light for sensitive sleepers.

2) Cannot create a dedicated playlist that is automatically selected. You have to make sure you have chosen the right music before you switch off and go to sleep.

Otherwise, highly recommended.

This Sony ICFC7IPS is a great design, compact and functional. There is a sliding “tray” which holds your iPod of choice and can be hidden away when not in use. All you’ll have is a stylish digital clock by your bedside. A great feature when convincing my wife that we could have a music system in the bedroom without having an unsightly bulky unit. Sound quality is surprising too, given the small size and the fact that it is reproducing the condensed files from an iPod. Other MP3 manufacturers are not missing out either as Sony include the relative wires to attach their players, although not in quite so an aesthetically pleasing way. Overall a 5 star product which marries the functionality of a dual alarm radio/clock and MP3 speaker unit.

This radio is great. It charges my new iPhone 3GS and works the itunes from it very well. The time display isn’ too intrusive and i have found it much better having a dull blueish glow compared to an intense red from older alarm clocks!

One of the best features is the auto time/date. This has proven invaluable whan my son decides to turn off the sockets!! Saves alot of time resetting it!

Highly recomended!

This arrived as a belated Christmas present last week and is excellent – it works with the latest iPhone and has all the features needed, especially the 5 day alarm setting. It’s not ridiculously big and the iPod docking section slides back under the clock when not in use. The only issue (as raised by other reviewers) is the display, unfortunately too bright for us, we have to turn the display away from us when sleeping. Hopefully we just need to get used to it. Must be because we are light sleepers. Don’t let this put you off completely but bear it in mind.

Bought this for my husband who has to get up very early to commute, and sometimes forgets to charge his iPOD. Its a great multifunctional product with a bright (bit too bright but not enough to stop you sleeping) display. Very easy to read the time, and the added bonus of being able to go to sleep to your favourite music is fantastic. The reception for the radio is also excellent, and its not difficult to set up or set the alarm. My husband is delighted with his present.
