I bought this as I use the TomTom navigation software, and so obviously need to have a cradle and a charger.

To be honest, for the price I was expecting something cheap and tacky that might not survive for long, but I have to say it’s surprisingly good – the sucker attaches very firmly to the windscreen, the stalk is stiff and stays where you put it, and the cradle rotates and tightens with it’s own lock-wheel so you can reposition it easily but it stays where you put it. The iphone simply clips in and is held firmly enough.

The power supply feels sturdy enough and works.

The only potential issue some might have is that the cradle fits the phone without a case – not a problem for me as I use a phone sock, but if you have a case that’s difficult to remove you might find it a pain.

I was very happy with this product overall. It was very cheap compared to others on the market. The in-car holder arrived promptly and was as described. The stalk is very stiff and the iPhone cradle itself has its own lock wheel so it stays in place – no worries about it moving around on bumpy roads.

The only problem I found is that I bought it planning to use it on the surface of the dashboard. However, I have discovered the suction only works on glass. It works amazingly on glass – so if you are planning on attaching it to your windscreen – you will have no worries. I wasn’t and therefore am a bit disappointed because it was advertised as saying it attaches to “a wide range of surfaces”. Also if I’m being really picky I got a white in car charger with a black in-car holder!

Great value for money though…

The charger – is very poorly made. The wire is curly and not long enough to stretch to reach the on-screen holder in my car. In fact, on the first attempt, it pulled the wires out of the part that connects to the phone! Zero stars.

The Holder – whilst this also appears cheap, the stalk is very firm and the sucker attaches very securely to the windscreen, meaning my iPhone 3GS stays in place. I use an Incipio Feather Case for iPhone 3G/3GS – Red and the phone still fits into the holder without the need to remove the case. 4 stars.

Sure it’s cheap, but remember “you only get what you pay for”!

Holds the phone OK in the holder, but won’t stay attached to the window sufficiently well to allow the phone to be used. Just about has enough suction to hold itself on the window without the phone! Poor.
