Nightmare Movies: Horror on Screen Since the 1960s

Nightmare Movies: Horror on Screen Since the 1960s

Now over twenty years old, the original edition of Nightmare Movies has retained its place as a true classic of cult film criticism. In this new edition, Kim Newman brings his seminal work completely up to date, both reassessing his earlier evaluations and adding a second part that analyses the last two decades of horror films with all the wit, intelligence and insight for which he is known. Since the publication of the first edition, horror has been on a gradual upswing and has gained a new and stronger hold over the film industry. Newman negotiates his way through a vast back catalogue of horror and charts the on-screen progress of our collective fears and bogeymen, from the low-budget slasher movies of the 1960s, through to the slick releases of the 2000s. Nightmare Movies is an invaluable companion that not only provides a newly updated history of the darker side of film but also acts as a truly entertaining guide with which to explore the less well-trodden paths of horror and rediscover the classics with a newly instructed eye.

My Life Story

Watching your little one grow day by day and year by year can be a heart warming experience – but it’s all over in the blink of an eye and you’ll find you’ve forgotten so many of the special moments. If it were a perfect world nobody would dare miss a minute of their young one’s life which is why some sentimental soul has created a 100 year diary so you can keep track of every Christmas summer holiday lost tooth first haircut first painting and first Gold Star with loads of space for pictures and drawings. Keep it filled in for as long as you can and then pass it onto your child for them to keep updated. They’ll have years of stories for their children and grandchildren and who knows maybe in 60 years they’ll have the beginnings of a family library.

Spy Pen Video Camera

Posted by Notcot on Oct 19, 2012 in Gadgets
Spy Pen Video Camera

I spy with my little eye something I probably shouldn’t thanks to this exceedingly cool piece of spy kit. However much we try and describe it as something that’s not for spy-loving man-children everywhere it’s inevitably geared towards the art of surreptitious surveillance. Hidden in this innocent-looking pen is a camera and video recorder. The video quality is pretty incredible for such a tiny camera it records sound too through a mini built-in microphone and despite its diminutive size it’ll record over an hour of espionage footage. Unscrew the pen to reveal a USB plug which will seamlessly disgorge your spying results and recharge the pen – a full charge will give you about 90 minutes of operation. A Spy Pen Video Camera is only of any use if it actually looks like a pen (so many don’t) and this one is indistinguishable from the real thing. It even comes with three ink refills so it’s perfectly acceptable as your normal work pen. The Spy Pen Video Camera might not make you a spy but all the wizardry inside will make you at least consider a new hat and a pseudonym.

Price : £ 42.55
