I have had a Technomate earlier model for a number of years. I also have other similar boxes (which comes when you purchase a new sat.dish), but when my Technomate died I put one of the other 3 boxes I have in it’s place. But I found I could not get my favourite French & German stations. I tried altering my dish to no avail. I then tried the other boxes I had accumulated and still could only get an odd station that was my favourite.
Then I decided I would spend a little money & get myself a new Technomate. And that’s what I did – and whalla I have now got all my favourite French & german stations back plus some. There is no other box like a Technomate for getting all the foreign stations Plus the BBCs and ITVs too. Also somehow the picture seems much more defined, and our TV is a reasonable new flat screen one.
I own a motovan and have a box in there, as well as a sky box (which I use for channel 5, which we like to watch – for some reason other boxes to do not seem to like picking it up – I use my sky box when I cannot get it on my free to view) we use, specially for when we go abroad and am going to get a Technomate for that and just keep the other box as an emergency spare if something goes wrong with my Technomate when I’m abroad.
My advice – do not even think about purchasing anything else but a Technomate.
P.S. I am a pensioner and have caravanned/boated etc. for 50yrs and have always had TV etc.in my vans/boats. Beleive me I have tried a lot of boxes that are out there.
