“The aerial works really well, does exactly what is says it will do. We now have great reception on all of the Freeview channels. It’s ready to go, so we didn’t have to assemble any parts. We just plugged the power supply in, connected it to the aerial socket on the TV and it worked perfectly first time. There is a gain control on it, but we just left it on full. It is also very solid, I was expecting something a little flimsy for the price, but the build quality is very good. It comes well packaged in its Thomson box. It arrived the next day after ordering from Netgadgets – so good delivery, no problems. I should also say that we’re not using the FM aerial, so we haven’t tested it and don’t need to have that extended, so it just sits behind and is less noticeable than in the picture. Overall we’re very pleased and amazed at the price.”

I was looking to replace an older indoor antenna and I bought this product after reading the reviews on Amazon. I was not disappointed, it is a fantastic product. The reception I now receive is as good as any outdoor antenna. Great value for money too. I can recommend this product very highly.

I bought this because our external antenna had too weak a signal (even when run with a booster) to allow it to be split between freeview box and a DAB tuner.

This Thomson antenna however gives a great signal for either freeview or DAB. I had expected it to be inferior in quality to the external one, but so far it has not broken up at all. Thinking of buying another now for our portable tv in the back room that has never had good reception.

The company supplying this through Amazon was great too. No delivery charge and only 2 days delivery from order date.

I’m very happy with this ariel. It arrived less than 24h after I ordered it. Plugged it in to the mains and the tv…pressed scan and woohoo, we now have 72 digital channels. They are 72 channels mostly containing utter dross, but the picture and reception of the dross is superb! Hurrah.

Also, the ariel was packaged in ‘egg-box-y’ card, and therefore will be fully recyclable -if only the same thing could be said of the TV I bought the other day, ho hum.

After a week of poor digital reception using an old external aerial attached to a plug in booster I thought I’d try this internal amplified aerial which has been receiving good reviews on Amazon. The reception using the aerial was disappointing though- I couldn’t pick up any digital channels with the booster set to max. It did however pick up analogue TV although the picture quality wasn’t great.

I’ve now gone back to using my external aerial plus booster and have upgraded the co-axial wires to better shielded ones and added a second booster, daisy chained to the first. This seems to have improved the signal strength but time will tell- conditions vary throughout the year.

My advice on this product is: if you don’t have an external aerial you can use with a booster this may do the trick assuming digital reception is fair to good in the area. The type of building you live in and room level will also play a part. In addition a co-axial extension lead attached to the aerial may help as the 1.5m fixed cable doesn’t permit you to move the portable aerial far from the TV to gain the best reception.
