When you first get it out of the packaging, you should charge it up before trying to use it. Instructions are hidden in the cardboard packaging.

The sound quality is very very poor on old computers (my laptop) but works brilliantly on my work desktop computer. I would recommend this discreet recording device.

Recording and sound quality is 1st class. Used it for a couple of formal interviews with HR + Boss – inside shirt pocket, under a pullover and it came out brilliantly (make sure the microphone ‘grill’ is pointed forward). Thought i’d transfer to a cd as its a .wav format but it doesn’t want to do it – says no file found. Packaging says you can + edit but no instructions as to how.

This is the worst thing I’ve bought on amazon. Doesn’t work in any useful way as its recording quality is so bad. It records only cracked sounds that don’t sound anything like what is being recorded – words can’t be made out from any distance, be it close or medium or far, from the device. A waste of money. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Received this promptly and in excellent condition. It charges up easily by connecting to a computer USB port. The sound quality is great and the files are easy to access, just like a memory stick. It’s brilliant while recording as it’s not as obvious as a large microphone, so the people you record (with their permission) aren’t as affected by it. I used it for a linguistic experiment and it was just the job.
